Not baffling at all, coupled with the failure of teaching in general across the entire world, sprinkle in the fact that the game itself is so absurdly easy, and throw in difficult dungeons right at the end.... = exactly what you see.
Had a great healer last night for Garuda(Normal) fight. She died not once, not twice, not thrice, but 6 times. You know how she kept dying? Apparently her character is allergic to rocks because she stayed away from them when Garuda casted her AOE. 6. It's not like we didn't tell her either.
Or maybe she didn't want to huddle up next to a stinky Roe! :OHad a great healer last night for Garuda(Normal) fight. She died not once, not twice, not thrice, but 6 times. Running Bryflox 10+ times and no caster hands or chest piece. Tank chest piece dropped 7 of those times.
Failing on Garuda normal mode 5 separate times because of incompetent dps/tanks. I can't heal through stupid. I made a 6 part macro explaining the fight that I would post upon entering the instance because nobody could take 5 minutes out of their day to watch a video on youtube. Most of the time I still had to yell at people mid fight - specifically the tank.
Discovering that weaver and leatherworker require mats that must be farmed off of mobs that only have a handful of spawn points in the entire game world and fighting to get 100-300 of these materials while everyone else on the server is as well.
Like Aldgoat skins, Gigantoad skins, and Diremite webs?Running Bryflox 10+ times and no caster hands or chest piece. Tank chest piece dropped 7 of those times.

Yes my friend, those are a few of them. I'm so thankful to be done with aldgoat and diremite... But I believe I still have to fights mobs for 3 more tiers of leathers and 2 more tiers of weaver mats. Could be more. So much fun.![]()

Top OMG moment was running the final dungeon with all ls buddies...that whole dungeon was an omg moment! XD I loved every minute of it.

Every day is full of omg with the lag and packet loss. A decent game ruined by garbage servers.

Last night's DF group in Halatali was full of fail, but actually wound up giving me the best time I've had in a dungeon in FFXIV yet. It really made me appreciate being an Arcanist.
- The Healer would sometimes forget to heal the Tank (the excuse one time was "Sorry, wanted to see what kind of spells that Carby was casting" ...what the -??) so I took it upon myself to throw in a few Physicks when things got hairy.
- Even so, the Tank (Gladiator) would die constantly. When this happened, someone else would obviously have to take the aggro (sometimes me), so depending on the situation I would cast Resurrection on the Tank (which was not always accepted, instead he'd just respawn at the beginning and run back), or switch to Topaz Carbuncle and let that little guy handle it while I healed.
- The other DPS, a Puglilist, would often run ahead of the rest of the group in random directions, just looking for trouble. Didn't verbally complain, but seemed to be really spazzy and impatient. There was one boss fight with a big lake of electrified water, which our first Healer explicitly warned against ever setting foot into. So, what happens as soon as the fight starts? The GLD and PUG run like maniacs into the water and just stay there, taking constant damage. Eventually the Tank was smart enough to get out of it, but the PUG stayed in for a while longer, leaving me to spam heal him constantly until he realized he was the only one there.
- The Healer just disappeared halfway through, without saying a word, so apparently nobody noticed and they just kept charging ahead for a bit. So, I was main healer for a little while until a replacement arrived.
- Yet even more Tank wipes, and mid-battle Resurrections / Topaz Cabuncle switch-ups. All the while, I'm tossing out Miasma, Bio, Aero, Thunder, Energy Drain, Virus, whenever I can to keep damage going.
I'm not even complaining. I had a great time! I don't mean to sound like I "carried" the group -- usually I'm the terrible one -- but this experience really made me feel like the hero of the day, and forced me to use my entire bag of tricks to its fullest. And never did anybody resort to namecalling, shaming, trolling, or any amount of ill-will. Everybody was friendly/polite/humble, and we cleared it in decent time despite the problems.
