if the starting city matters that much then just choose a class thats starting in the city u want, this is not a big deal. put your pants on and man up.

Same here! Not so much for RP reasons, but just knowing that I'm not a true Ul'dahn has REALLY bothered me.I'd love to be able to change my starting city in my character profile, I was quite distraught when I logged into my Legacy character to get back in the action and had it changed to Uldah instead of my original starting city of Limsa just because I had logged in as the first class selected (gladiator). And yes this would be for RP reasons and it matters to me.
Yeah that's not a problem for new players, but some of us made a mistake when we imported from 1.0: we didn't know that starting city and class were linked, so we simply didn't change our class during import. New characters are prompted to do this, but not 1.0 imports. So it's a mistake a lot of people made.
