Unfortunately (or fortunately) you are on one of the most congested / wanted worlds. They've said they are planning on transfers for mid September. We shall see if they can stick to that with the other issues they've had though.

That said, transfers will only solve so much. You can only cram so many people onto a world before it'll greatly affect your ability to log in. There is only room for 7500-7800 people logged on at a time.

Transfers will force people to choose between leaving their FC behind or their friends, unless their FC also wants to migrate.

That kind of choice shouldn't happen in the first place because nobody could tell from phase 3 how SE will react to the server congestion issue after launch.
Can you imagine it? "Guys, I like our FC but our server will potentially be popular and SE will potentially lock character creations so I must leave you gl hf"?

Yes but like I said there's only so much room on a world. What else would you have them do? Just keep adding accounts to overpopulated worlds? That wouldn't be fair to established players that are on said world and enjoying themselves to suddenly be locked out all the time due to log in maximums.

In the long term I'd imagine space will clear up once free trials start running out and people that are just here to try it out move on.

Why do people have to abandon their established FC's because they had the bad luck of rolling on a server the majority of the community favored? As I posted before, in hindsight you could avoid rolling on the server.
