Gil Seller Annoyance

Why is it so hard to report a gill seller? It should be: right click on the name, report it and they get taken out of the ability to chat with you. I should not have to block up my black list with a massive list for gill sellers. Why is this so broken? They knew Gill selling was an issue with XI come on. Please!! Plus so many players are so confused with how to get rid of them it is always being asked!! This is not how it should be.

Servers being full, I can understand to a point, making it hard to report these people, I hope is changed very soon. I have 15 black listed right now. I would like to just have this for people who bother me in game...not with spam. I know a lot of players are just telling people to black list them and not bother with how to report them because it is a pain to type out every few minutes.

I agree, there should be a report person bit like in guild wars 2.

in that they send mails to you, and then you can just click report for gold selling and then after a small while they are gone.


kind of breaks the game selling gold, and i will not start going on about the people who are made to farm for the gold sellers

518 Accounts Banned for RMT. Many hacked.

Having confirmed in-game advertisements for RMT* sites, we have taken the following actions to address this issue.
* RMT (Real Money Trade) is the selling of account or game data for currency in the real world.

Period: Aug. 24, 2013 to Sep. 5, 2013
-Accounts receiving disciplinary action for RMT advertisement: 518 Accounts -Action Details: Permanent ban from FINAL FANTASY XIV

In addition to chat filters, we will continue to address RMT activity through cooperation with our GM teams and STF (Special Task Force). If you are solicited by an RMT company in-game, please do not respond.

Among the accounts banned during our investigation, we have confirmed that many of these accounts were hacked. In order to protect your information, we please ask that you protect your Square Enix Account information. We also strongly recommend using the Square Enix Security Token to increase account protection.

When you see an RMT advertisement, please file a report by using the in-game command [System Menu] -> [Support Desk] -> [Contact Us] -> [Report Cheating].

* What is the Special Task Force?
The Special Task Force (STF) is a team that works to prevent violations of the game's terms of service that would negatively impact FINAL FANTASY XIV. Their goal is to preserve the safety of the community and maintain an enjoyable play environment. More specifically, they handle issues related to RMT and the use of unauthorized third-party programs. Information collected by GMs will be analyzed by the STF, who will then take necessary actions against those who violate our terms of service.

In all the MMOs I've played it was by right-clicking the gold sellers' names in the chat window, and picking reporting the gold sellers/spam option, then automatically adding those names on our blacklist. Most of the gold sellers have funky names on top of that, pretty hard to add the right names in the blacklist.

Not to mention their template is a pain to fill out each time. Weirdly it asks for "World" "Zone" and "date/time".... which you would think would be automatically included with the ticket.

lmao i agree... i ported to uldah for a quest n my whole chat window was filled in about 5 secs.. yesh on ps3 when u enlarge the chat with triangle was nothin but gold spams = = its a pain havin to add them to black list by typin thier name

You dont't actually need to type the names manually. One trick / workaround is to highlight the spammer's name in the chat log, select tell and then change the /tell Spammer Name to /blist add "Spammer Name" and - it's done (don't forget to remove the space after the name added by the tell command). Before sending the /blist command you can also select and copy the name to paste it later on to Cheating or Harasment report. (mark with mouse or hodling shift and moving cursor, CTRL+C to copy, CTRL+V to paste)

If you're being bombarded by personal tells with spam set up the following macro and have it placed on your Crossbar:
/blist add <r>
which will add on blocks list the last person using tell on you.

I dissagree - as that would only lead to some fake reports and additional spamming. Removing the spammers and RMT junk accounts should be rewarding on it's own.
