The trouble is that defeats the purpose... at that point they may as well simply remove the tombstones from the story dungeons. It is meant to be a mutually beneficial relationship: help players complete the story, get tombstones. However, instead of accepting the tradeoff that they need to wait a few minutes here and there for a cutscene, a huge percentage of players whine and moan about it.

Or you could leave and make your own group. This is a multi player game, be thoughtful of what the rest of the group wants. It's not like any dungeon is labeled with THIS IS A SPEED RUN DUNGEON, or IF YOU SIGN UP FOR THIS YOU MUST AGREE TO WATCH CUT SCENES. Let the group majority decide, comply and be reasonable.
If you want a say over what other players in your party do, form a group outside of the duty finder, and agree to what you are going to do beforehand. In a completely random pairing, it is up to each individual what they want to do, not a democratic vote. If a player is coming to the dungeon to complete the story, and not to get tombstones, it is unreasonable to tell them they need to skip the cutscenes. The duty finder paired you because your task is the same, even if your overall goal is slightly different.

Speed runs are certainly more complicated to deal with, because if the party can't come to an agreement then it's pretty much going to fall apart. I think that one is going to require some changes to dungeon rewards that make it actually beneficial to fight trash mobs. I don't like the idea of skipping through content in dungeons, but with the way that it's currently set up that is still my preferred method, because the "proper" way is sort of a waste of time and gil.

have been ok so far. No one rushing others, most watching cutscenes, those who didn't watch are probably not on their first attempt at it.

Castrum Meridianum cutscenes I don't mind skipping because there is way too many cutscenes for this dungeon. Also the cutscenes only show your character alone so nothing is altered when watching it in the Inn (and soon to be house)

    However,

The Praetorium cutscenes are the real problem. The cutscenes for this dungeon and final moments of the storyline is created for a 8 member group to be part of the storyline. Each cutscene actually shows each member of your 8 member group running the dungeon with you but in the Inn it shows you going through this process alone rather than how it is original made to show you as a member of a 8 member raid group.

They need to make the Praetorium cutscenes to include the default NPC we see in the Benchmark take the place of the 8 member group so we can experience the Praetorium cutscene as they're originally ment to be seen when we unlock them for our Cutscene book.

There should be a pause as long as someone watches a CS. That way everyone is happy. I'll watch them regardless. This is a game, not a dictatorship.

Guess I'm going to be a jerk for watching the CS then. Tough. You don't like it make your own party of people who are in too much of a hurry to wait 1.5 min. It's a game that's supposed to be fun and I plan to play it that way.

I dont think the time tick as someone watching the CS, because after get port into dungeon, everyone will stay in a circlet and cant do anything until the person watch CS is done or AM i wrong about the time ?

I'd take fetch quests over parlay any day of the week. Plus, in 1.0, the level gap between story quests was terrible. By the time you got a new quest, you already forgot what happened in the last one. At least we've got a continuous string from 1 to 50 now.

That said, fetch quests are tiring and out of place for main scenario quests.
AK gives 80, you forgot boss drops

Just to say, I ran into this first time when I got to Toto-Rak just Saturday... This isn't end game even but level.. 24-ish I think? I said nothing watched the cut-scene and suddenly see the "closed in 15 seconds". I didn't skip then, but just kept watching.

When I finally came out, the rest of the party had wiped. Well.. I mean. yeah. Duh.. You rush into a boss without your healer.. You are going to die. Sorry. That is just silly on your part. Someone said "You watch cut-scenes people die".. No no no. Backwards. You rush into fight scenes without your party, you probably die. Blaming someone else because you rushed in without waiting is dumb.

I have been playing every free moment non-stop since early access, and had already put in a good 18 hours even before that during open beta... And I am nowhere near end-game on any of my characters. Because I am taking the time to enjoy the game. Including watching every cut-scene when it happens the first time.

Even if all the videos are in the inn, which I haven't looked. It doesn't make sense to watch them later. They are story related. Which means if you skip them you still will go through solo-cut-scenes and dialogue later that make references to what just happened.. things if you skipped you wouldn't have seen! It breaks continuity. So yeah, just as when you are watching a movie with someone else who hasn't seen it. It is rude to fast forward to "get to the good part" and then tell them to "suck it up". If you have a room with 5 people, and 4 want to fast forward, you still let the one person who hasn't seen it it watch the whole thing. If you don't you are the inconsiderate one, not them. I mean yeah, if everyone has seen it, majority rules. But first time experience always trumps majority. Always. This is social life 101, not remotely something unique to game play.

I just made it to haukke mannor on main story, ive been going slowly, enjoying the game, exploring, learning again. Not had anyone tell me to skip a cutscene yet, but im sure the closer you get to the endgame dungeons the more chance this will happen.

I wont skip anything that I haven't seen before, and anyone that tells me to....well I just hope they have obscene language filter on
