Warning to all those who play this game for story.

There are quite many story mission that you have to play with other people. Other people will try to make you skip cut scenes but do not give in. Ignore them, watch the scenes and enjoy the story. They will try to force you to skip all the cut scenes and even tell you lies like "you can watch them later at the inn". Don't listen to their lies. They don't care about the story so ofcource they would tell you something like that. Don't let them ruin your experience.

I watched all the scenes until the last mission where you are again forced to play with other people who don't care about story. This time I finally gave in because people were so mean after I watched couple of scenes so I skipped rest to shut them up. After the mission, I went to inn to watch the scenes but they were not there. Only couple of them were but not even those first few I watched before I started skipping.

So remember, if you want to see the scenes, watch them right there and then when they are supposed to happen because otherwise you miss them and you will have to come back anyway to watch them. Better to watch them first time you are there so you don't have to deal with the bullshit all the rushers present to you the second time.

Now I will go and play the last mission again and call those rusher on their bullshit about their lies and then ignore them and watch the scenes. I like the story and I wan't to see how the last mission plays out. Rant over.

Yep I dont plan on giving in. But im seriously getting worried the closer I get. Just beat Garuda story mode yesterday and know I have the endgame dungeons coming up. While it will be new for me and my first time through, likely everyone I get paired up with will have been farming them for a week or two already and try to rush me and give me a hard time if I don't.

Jerks rushed to endgame as fast as possible and now want to give everyone else a hard time now that we are finally catching up after enjoying the story. Everything Im hearing about endgame is really offputting.

You can watch them at the Inn.
Click on the drop down and select the "Duty" option.
You can watch pretty much every cut scene from the story at an inn room.
It even includes the little victory dance scene you get from beating dungeons.

Not that I'm saying you should skip them at the time. I'm just saying that it is an option to watch them later.

I once decided to do the Ifrit boss for fun, so I skipped the cutscene because I had already seen it. The tank and the other DPS were still watching it, but the healer wasnt, and so I asked if they had done Ifrit before. They said no, then asked why the others were still watching the cutscenes, threatening to leave if they took too long. The healer said that they skip all the dialogue and story in the game.

Right before the others finished the scene (literally a second before), the healer got impatient and just left. I don't know why people can't just let others enjoy their games...I mean, they're free not to listen to the story, but its not very nice to hinder others because of that.

Thanks for pointing that out how to watch, those CS's, I skip just so I don't miss game plan and time is of issue, but couldn't find those last 2 missions CS.

I don't understand why some players come to a Final Fantasy game (known more for their stories than gameplay) and want to skip over the story. It really confuses me.

Been hesitant to do the second 8-person instance for the story for about 3 days now, not only do tanks get harassed for seemingly anything we do, but I know someone will complain that I'm watching my cutscenes.

Let those who play for the story actually get to enjoy it, you only get your first experience once and I'll be damned if I ruin it for someone that can't wait a few moments.

The only fair way to deal with this, deciding to use the dungeon finder tool (agreeing to be put together with a bunch of random people with different opinions and goals), is to let the majority rule. If you're in the minority on either side, suck it up and stop being entitled. If you absolutely insist on enjoying the game a specific way, you should make your own group, and not pair yourself with completely random people, risking being the only one who wants to enjoy the content your specific way.
