I played maybe every possible MMO out there. And everywhere is WoW? Take a step back.

Just like how FF10 turned it into something it had never been before, right? There is no iconic "summoner" class because it varied widly from 1-9, and 10, 11, 12, 13, and now 14.

Summoner is not what you want it to be, it's what SE wants it to be. And you can summon egis in FFXIV, so Summoner is just what the name says.

Before you discuss about turning the Summoner in something completely different, start maintaining the balance issues and try to solve them.
