I know this may be mind blowing, but it's almost as if this is an entirely different game, and that the summoner here is NOT the summoner from there. Amazing, right? If you want to get technical, FFXI summoner wasn't even the "real" summoner you people are calling for. In the vast majority of FF games, you simply summoned it, it did its job with absolutely no other input from the player, and then it fucked off until you called it again.

So why can't it be even more new school where the pets are the sideshow?
