SERVER LAG / INSTANCE!

Ok so I’ve been trying to farm dungeons and Hard Mode Primal Fights for a while now. While I’m aware of the tactics I often end up getting a load of flak from other players in the group. The problem I’ve been having is this. Enemy attacks AOE and Ground AOE. For instance the Ifrit or Garuda fights. What happens is the ground will go red displaying an impending attack giving me time to run out of the way. I clear the intended area but still find myself taking dmg from the attack even though I moved. With the Ifrit fight there is the ground AOE attack or when he charges I move from the ground AOE on my screen its shows im well clear of it but after the attack disappears I then take the dmg even though I’m nowhere near it same goes for the fire plumes. This server lag seems to be happening in every dungeon I do now making impossible for me to complete any because the other party members get mad for me being hit even though on my screen it shows I’m clearly out of the way.

My internet connection is fine normal gameplay and party’s out of dungeons are fine it’s just instanced dungeons.

I took part in a primal fight Garuda HM with my Guild but even they end up getting mad at me saying I was not moving fast enough. They did not believe I was lagging. In the end I recorded my own gameplay and then showed that video to one of my guild members since I know them all in real live. This video clearly shows me moving out of AOE and attack hot spots but still being hit. After he viewed the video he and the rest of the Guild apologised to me and then said I should post a forum topic and so I have.

I don’t know if anyone else has this problem this is why I’m posting. Again this is not down to my internet connection. It’s instanced only. My server is EU/ Ragnarok.

Please does this happen to anyone else? Is this a known issue? Please let me know.

I made the video for private use only as its not legal to distribute. I made my point and proved it was not my fault to my guild that's all that matters. Aside from the Lag issue. BTW its the same on every job I play. Hard as hell to play as my 50 WHM or Scholar.

BTW my home ping is 32 and download speed 12.5 mbps. In game the ping reads as "Sending : 0 Receiving: 6010" I’m not sure how that compares to everyone else?

if you actualy look at the forums you will realise this is a known issue.
they have said/done absoulutely nothing regarding this as of yet and somehow i doubt they will seeing as this was also present in ff14 vanila and they have not fixed it.

oh and btw eu servers arent eu realy. they are all in canada just like us ones.

Ok thank you for your reply. I did try search the forum but could not find a topic. Also why do i have constand server lag but my guild who are on the smae server as me dont seem to have any? Would starting fresh on a new server help?

Basically, you're not alone at all, the games server infrastructure is from the 1990's and only checks your location every 0.3 seconds,so if you have 150ms you're always going to be about half a second behind.

well known issue or not, it needs fixing, i had so much frustration running primals hard modes, when for instance, our black mage being out of mana casting ice spells not getting any mana back, then all of a sudden hitting full mana bar. wait there is more, AK dungeon, i moved out of aoe on first boss, like seriously 3 seconds standing outside and taking massive damage as i would stand in... this is just not fun, the game is great but with this lag its not fun to play at all. and if it dont get fixed, people will stop playing it, simple, saying from own experiences, my guildies are getting crazy about it.. and no, its not my internet, i have 100MB/ps speed

I feel your pain Bra. Well least i know its not just me. Are there any Dev topics on this issue? Are there really no plans to fix this?

there has been zero communication so far. so at this point your only option is to deal with it and hope they fix it
