Its a shame that the majority of accounts used to spam RMT sites are hacked. Most players that loose their accounts to hackers basically give their passwords away tho. Either they fall pray to an email scam and reply with login info, log into a fake website, or use the same password for everything including fan websites that are easily hackable.

Fan websites are fun, and offer a lot of content. However, when you sign up for these websites NEVER use important passwords. Even if the website owner is completely legit, these sites often do not have adequate security making it very easy to gain access to the websites database of user names and passwords. The hacker simply uses a bot to try logging in with the same username and pass.

As for the email scams. I hate to sound rude but if ppl are still falling for this kind of stuff I feel really bad for them. Even if an email looks totally legit there is NEVER a need to reply to it or follow links in it. Always use your web browser and manually type in the web address. (not the one inside the email, the one to the legit site :P)

A security token will definitely help... but if you ever lost it good luck getting a hold of SE's customer service department.

they are working on this hard and we can all contribute and do our part by blacklisting and sending in reports if we set the standard that this is a hard game to hack they will go away. they are out for a quick buck and we can chase them off.

You missed the most important tip on getting rid of them. Don't buy from them!

I'm glad that SE are working on ways of getting rid of the sellers, but I also hope they will be perma-banning the accounts of those who buy from them.

Gold sellers are working for a living, buyers are cheating on their fellow players and ruining the ingame economy. I dislike both but I know which one I despise the most.

This is becoming more and more vital to the healthy development of this game. When I first logged in, people used to converse in chat, but now we're denied the opportunity unless we do some very trivial tasks that we have to repeat every ten minutes~. These sentiments are felt by many too. If there's no interaction able to be made, it reduces the joy of the game. A lot of frustration going around that I wish wouldn't be..

so click on their name and send tell.. which will at least put their properly capitalised name and spelt correctly into your command bar.. then delete the tell and make it

/blist add "the name you already have sitting in your command line"

there is a space at the end of the name for the tell message you will have to get rid of also..
If you copy the name from the tell command into your social box and the blacklist there you will also have to remove the space at the end if you accidentally copied it..

Hyperion's Gridania region just doesn't have any that I have once seen. Not sure on the other areas though.

Just wait, you probably will run into them. They seem to be hitting the Legacy servers hard right now and will spread out to others soon, unless EA/Square start banning IP's and accounts. But like others have said they can just hop proxy's and make a new account and start over again. It does come down to people just not buying so there is no market for them, but there will always be those who need to cheat to get ahead so they can feel better about themselves.
