This is what happens when SE sees $$$$$$.

The success of Blizzard with WoW is that they created a game so simple that any 12 year old could play.
And not only them but also the people who have limited play time.
And since the content was faster(easier), the epeens leveled faster and Blizzard made boatloads of money off them. And now SE wants to cash in on that mentality.
Sorry folks, it's all about the allmighty (insert your currency here).

Once SE changed their game format from mmorpg to mmo$$$ this is the mentality of the players it will attract.

Combine that with the fact that with a few exceptions you can max level your character by soloing there is no need, let alone motivation to form a community.
And lets not forget the multiple server DF which fosters the "I don't care what you think of me since I probably won't see you again" mentality and the result is XIV.

And I had such high hopes for this game

    Yeah it's ridiculous.

The game has been out for... 3 weeks I think? And some people already expect everyone to be a master at the game.

Lol. How can someone be a pro at a game that has been out for such a short time? Pure nonsense.

Also the skill ceiling for this game is next to nill.

The best part was today in my FC chat people were talking about primals hard mode being too hard, I mentioned they should've played TERA to know what hard PvE content is, they went and said TERA is easier than FF14.

Whats going on here (IMO) is the start if any new mmo. You have a massive rush of players coming to this game so you are going to see a large abundance of assholes speeding to 50 and being like this. Overtime it dies down alot, does it go away completely? No, but it tends to die down alot overtime in my experience.

If there wasnt a cross-server duty finder you wouldnt see these issues, at least not at the scale in which they currently exist. If people only play with people from their own server then their reputation matters. Act like a douche in a few dungeons and people start taking note "hey I'm not going to ever invite him to a group." Before you know it people start caring a whole lot more what others think of their play and even their personality because they want to be invited to endgame and not blacklisted, but as it is now people just hide behind the blanket of anonymity that is created by the whole x-realm thing.

and yet people are afraid a f2p-option would ruin this precious community.... lol

I can only say it so often: don't be part of the problem, be part of the solution. be extra nice. be polite when someone's a douche. and then roll a class people are dependend on. let them bow to you and grovel. you need to control your minions.

To bad their fast leveling hasn't taugh them decent tactics. They are the same people who go in dungeons and fights, frustrate experienced players when they go off half cocked spamming crap and throwing off balance. Most regulars have lost patience with this and dont't stay around to put up with them.

While I agree this isn't pleasant at all, you just need to understand: it's a standard mentality these days, regardless of what mmorpg you play. If not immediately, it'd still come up later on. Few things, like majority of experienced mmorpg gamers AND some of the 1.0 legacy players in particular added with extreme ease of leveling intensify this effect, but even if it didn't exist right now the game would still eventually get to that point.

    The solution is:
Don't deal with people you don't like, just as you wouldn't in real life. Ignore nerd ragers, find decent guilds who'd provide you support, and just enjoy the game at your pace

*SHOCK* people being RUDE on the INTERNET!? why i never. clearly something must be done about this at once or it might spread to such bastions of reason and politeness as youtube comment section or *gasp* 4chan
all joking aside, pricks are everywhere. online, offline, everywhere. and you will have to deal with pricks because the process of weeding out picks just makes bigger pricks but now with power.

Yeah, I've seen this elitism too, shouts about endgame hardcore progression, must have best gear asap... The game has been out for a WEEK and a few days. WHY is there endgame?! I must fault SE a little bit for this because obviously nobody should be max level a week after the game is out.. just..no. Then the elitists..claiming they know the fight and that they are good at it.. after a week? No. You aren't. No matter what you say you have max one week more training than I do so far. You are not (that much) better.
