also instead of all this whining to change/remove features, pushing to ADD stuff is a better idea
Considering leves are an integral part of the game and considering they aren't going anywhere and since the game is built on their very foundation I would say fixing them is more important than asking to ADD something new to the game. We can keep adding all we want, leves will always be there, so might as well make them fun or remove them altogether because they were done wrong to begin with.

You're never going to make content remain fun that is intended to be done every 36 hours. Everything gets old and boring when you're doing it for the 200th time. I bet you're one of those who only does Broken Water and Halatali leves. If you want to keep things fresh why not try the other areas? Sure less SP than Broken Water but it's all about fun for you right?

Not minding something is not the same as enjoying something. This game is seriously lacking in the FUN department. Games are supposed to be fun. If they are not, they will not be successful.

Mobs in most leves should also be changed (also in behest, for that matter). Telling me to gather pages from a book trapping evil spirits and seeing goats or opo-opos pop out of it is just wrong. When I'm hired to save a settlement from dodos or marmots I just want to laugh (or cry).

Peistes, wolves / mongrels, mitelings / diremites are the kind of mobs that we should find in most of the leves. And Beastmen. Heck, where is that leve where we have to fight the malboro we see in the introduction of the game?

Also we should have real boss fights in some leves.

I dont even think mob difficulty is going to do it, they need to create some fun tasks not just like oh lets wack up the HP.

They should also spread them out, wtf is with almost all the leves going in the same direction. Or have it completely random across the entire map.

At the moment there is very little activites leves provide. There is:
    1. Kill all mobs
    2. Kill all mobs but 1 flees
    3. Kill mobs to get lights, then kill the proper mobs
    4. Touch lights on floor, kill the mobs
    5. Run between lights and kill mobs to get x amount of items.

Its all very tedious and similar. There is no creativity or variety.

I think the problem with guildleves is that people don't recognize it for what it really is - something to do.

Guildleves provide almost no real progression of the storyline. Simply put, it is a "daily quest" system, designed to provide repeatable tasks that players will want to do over and over again for the reward they provide (exp, wealth, etc.). Of course this still doesn't change the fact that they are boring to complete, though to be fair all repeatable quests are inherently boring by nature.

The boredom of these repeatable quests could've been alleviated by having the player engage in tasks that involve "out-of-the-ordinary" mechanics. For instance, instead of defeating a static number of enemies, a quest may require a player to play a mini-game to achieve the goal of shooting an enemy out of the sky. Sadly, while SE decided to implement very basic mini-games for Crafting, they failed to recognize the value of them when applied to mundane/daily quest tasks.

Imagine if this game, in addition to having the core MMO framework that it has, also had other seperate mini-games within the game that people can compete on (i.e. FF7's Chocobo Racing, FF8/9's Playing Cards, FF10's Sports Thunderdome, etc). People would have something interesting to do in their spare-time when they get bored of crafting and grinding (which in themselves don't really offer an interesting and engaging mode of competition).

Boy let me tell you I sure love finding the imp in the Dodo herd. Or finding the imp in the sheep herd. Or finding the imp in the crew of Lalafells with manly voices. I also love chasing mobs halfway across the map and defending a small glowing orb from an onslaught of small lizards. PHEW, I had to stop playing the game because the fun was just too overwhelming.

I found leves fun when I was doing them for the first few times. But like I say repetitive content will never stay fun. Some people on here ask the impossible.

Agree. Leves are simply a small dose of grind substitute every 36 hours, you could even call it an exp bonus system. The real problem is, the lack of any real content makes us think that leves were meant to be fun, challenging or interesting.

In time, when real stuff to do gets released we won't care that leves are boring and repetitive, we'll simply do them when we need the SP and go have fun in a dungeon/whatever else.

I personally enjoyed killing many small squirrels while trying to pass it off like I wasn't a staff-wielding satanic ironclad midget.
