As many people have mentioned already, you can report the guy for harassment (not just the tank, but the whole party can).

As for the tank, when it comes to the duty finder, THEY have the real power, because THEY don't have to wait 25+ minutes to do a dungeon. It always surprises me a little when I hear of a DPS bullying a tank/healer, because the victim has the power to leave, and put that DPS back into that long queue... Hopefully this tank continues, as he will have better experiences, since I feel the majority of players are willing to help, especially with a week old game. We need more tanks!

I can't find the link off hand, but there was a great post by the Blizzard devs about how botters and toxic people affect the game, and how it's something that sticks with people much more than the positive experiences. It basically boiled down to people wanting to have fun in the game, and running into these groups of people caused them to quit the game and the numbers were like ten players quitting for every one of the bots or griefers. They don't release exact punishments, but they consider it a top priority to get rid of them in the game as it causes way more hurt to the game.

Man really, sometimes i lose my head.
Yesterday I got a run on tam-tara with a healer in full crafting gear, once I told him he should get a decent gear after 2 wipes for not enough heal, he sad his gear was better than mine and I should shut up. I laughed. hard. and leaved. I'm sorry for the fact that the tanker will end up thinking he was at fault. at first seal the tank had to use a potion and even then we all ended up on the floor. I got a 50 SCH/SMN, a 31 WHM and 34 BRD and the guy that was so lost in the game that lvled conj 30, thau 15 and pug 10 said he knew more than me and I should shut up. Some ppl deserve some bashing.

The imports from WoW have become a scourge on this game and it's culture.

Not all, but far too many.

I've almost reach the point of auto-blacklisting anyone I hear using WoW terms - just to save myself the grief.

The devs could improve the situation with a DF /blacklist, by making the DF abandonment penalty more severe, and by making content increasingly difficult and require more teamwork and coordination. This is what fostered such a good community in the early days of FFXI.

Definitely report that d-bag...I'm sorry you, and your party memebers, had to go through this at all...The sad fact is that people gain pride and ego by tearing others down because "they aren't doing it right" or "I can do it better, you suck", instead of, "Here are some pointers or tips on how to keep hate or pull correctly" etc... That is a whole HELL of a lot more productive than yelling or slamming someone...

If I were that tank I would have unloaded on him, personally...but that's just me. It was probably the DPS fault for spamming too many weapon skills anyway. My advice is to block him/blacklist him, report him with screenshots etc..(in case he isn't on your same server). Take a-holes like that with a grain of salt, they are the basement dwelling maggots that have severely pathetic social skills and will probably be lonely for life.

This is a general human tendency. There have been numerous studies and papers that show negative thoughts impact us far more than positive ones. If you go to a restaurant and they mess up your order, you are upset about it...even if they got it right nine times before that. Bad experiences are dwelled on longer, so form brighter ( although more detrimental) memories.

That is why I run the "hug a tank" marathon with my buddies. We normally just run together but if I do run in a DF group and the tank did well, or at least tried, I make sure to thank them and tell them keep it up. I might throw and emote hug in then exit the instance. I do it in hopes that they think about that situation the next time someone is being a jerk.

SE needs to implement two things:

    1. Vote kick members in a party

    2. Allow easier way to blacklist somebody. Currently the social UI can't be accessed in dungeons so you'd have to manually target the person then type /blist

Until that happens, this inexcusable behaviour in dungeons will continue. Being on the Internet is no excuse t he mean. Do not excuse this type of behavior because you're just being part of the problem.

I have tried TRIED so SO SO SO much to tell tanks. "Please don't pull with provoke. It generates no enmity of it's own." "Please mark a single target to focus." "Please don't overpower sleeping monsters." "Please turn the boss away from the party!"

None of them listen. I even chat and say hello in my DF to the entire group. No one bothers to respond. No one says hi. No one even bothers to type "Hello I'm on PS3 so it's hard to type." People don't listen to advice or direction. They probably get enough of that from authority figures in their own lives. So I figure there is no hope for them, they are bad and will remain so.

The DF, more often the not, is a huge failure. Better to run Free Company parties and go into DF solo ready to just /leave

Nobody wants to hear it but I have the solution to the harassment problem.

Make the duty finder one server only. Anyone acting s fool get labelled by the whole server and can never find a group again. This mass asshole surge started with crossrealm dungeons in WoW, because people get the mentality if " whatever, I'm never gonna see these people again" it'd basicly giving them anonimity.

That's not a solution because not enough healers and tanks seek.
