Good to know. I wasn't quite sure which category to use when reporting Gil Sellers. Now I know. Thanks. On a kinda of related question. Has anyone been using a security token? I have one but I have been hesitant to use it, because I've read some forum posts about users having difficulties with them.

I am not sure what difficulties they were talking about but trust me you will want to use a security token. My old account of FFXI was hacked and SE banned it because they thought it was a RMT and didn't help me to get it back (shit luck I know.) Anyway, it's easy to register your security token through the account management and after it is registered be sure to write down your serial number and emergency removal password. That password is if your security token is lost or stolen.

All in all, I'd highly recommend the smartphone app.

I agree with that, that's what I am using mine. Still, it's possible to lose your phone like some people do that all the time. ^^

The physical tokens like the one found in the CE are only good till the battery dies. I've heard it's a pain to get the physical token off your account when the battery dies or it's destroyed. I would recommend using the smartphone app. FOr one, it's free, it works the same way, and as long as you remember the deactivation code, if you lose your phone, you keep your account. If something were to happen to your account while you have a token attached, SE is more willing to recover it.

All in all, I'd highly recommend the smartphone app.

Looks like SE banned some Gilspammers today and will be adding filters and other things to prevent the advertisements.

Use the "report harassment" and report gil sellers as soon as they contact you...

That's what I have been doing, but it seems as if, according to the Official Post (which I can't "quote"), they want us to use [System]-[Support]-[Contact Us]-[Report Cheating].

Here is the format I have been using:

Title: Gil Spam (name)

Body:

• Name of Spammer
• World
• Date
• Time (including time zone)
• What happened (sent /tell, spammed /shout, etc.)

I also B-List the offender. It's such a convoluted process. I hope SE will soon implement a cleaner method to Report and B-List.

I think it can go to harassment as many go into the double whammy of spamming their words in /shout, another no no.
