Low lvl dungeons are just story. Once you hit 41 you will need to star spamming stone vigil for tomestones. Its peoples choice to rush to 50 but they are doing it wrong.

All I heard during beta when asking for open-world grinding parties on the forums was that we should just do dungeons, they are more enjoyable, more fun. Open world grinding was an outdated mechanic.
Now it appears those same people will only do dungeons when forced to for storyline quests or the gear treadmill.
It must suck for MMO designers that the only thing players want to do is whatever is the fastest exp/greatest rewards. If SE release a system where you had to press a button every 20 seconds while sitting in one place for an hour and you got 50% better exp/hour than FATE parties people would complain, but you'd damn sure see the whole server sitting in one place for an hour at a time.
Hey guys, wonder if you can help me, i'm level 15 Arcanist and 19 Conj, I am yet to find a dungeon quest line - I can't find any more quests anywhere I have followed my class quest line (waiting for lvl 20 now). Where am I going wrong?
Actually they are doing it right. Stone vigil does not give you the item level 60 gear nor does it give you the currency with weekly caps. Spamming stone vigil is nice and all but overall you will end up getting the currency quicker in the 50 dungeons and gear up quicker.
Class quests aren't main storyline quests. If you check your journal the story quest icons are a little different to normal quest icons (they have a kinda flame effect around them). If you can't see any, check at the adventurers' guild and see if Baderon/Miounne/Momodi have a quest for you.
Ah ok - I didn't realise you had to travel the world just to get another quest - I found a guy in Ul'dah who told me to go speak with Baderon. cool thanks for helping out - hopefully that should set me on my way..Class quests aren't main storyline quests. I agree that experience from doing dungeon runs with a competent group should be comparable with running FATEs. With multiple ways of earning experience in dungeons, quests, FATEs and levequests, all should feel like worthwhile alternatives, rather than one being zerged into oblivion because it's significantly more efficient than other methods.
That's not to say that levelling speed overall should be increased, but that running dungeons non-stop shouldn't be significantly less efficient than running FATEs non-stop (as many people do). It's a valid point that dungeons do reward with gear, but that's not a very good incentive for running lower-level dungeons multiple times - doing them a couple of times and hoping for some nice items is one thing, but I don't suppose that many people would be spending a lot of time trying to get a great set of level 20 gear, say, because it will become outclassed as they level up.

I think the exp level for dungeons is fine as is. Leveling is already easy enough and anything that makes it easier will only dull the game and shorten its lifespan.
Now the amount of Gil you get upon completing a dungeon, I can agree with that. Only problem is that eventually inflation will catch up and we will be back to square one in due time. XD

rewards from fates are - lots of xp and average seals
rewards from dungeons are - lots of gear and learning to pt and some xp
seems balanced to me
There is not "lots of gear" in dungeons. Sometimes you won't get anything at all for several runs. By the time you do get the stuff you want, chances are you're already equipped with something better. Trading dungeon gear in for seals is a nice option of course, but it doesn't even come close to the amount of seals you get from FATEs.
Also, almost no one is going to join dungeons to learn how to play in a party. That's just wishful thinking.
Endgame aside, this game is clearly designed as a "play together alone" experience that discourages party play so people don't feel like they're missing out by playing solo.
