Anyone know good Graphic settings to boost FPS?

    Morning all,

I'm currently playing on maximum @1080p and the game looks gorgeous but im only getting fps of around 45 - 50 and sometimes it drops to around 30.

Does anyone know of any settings that i could change under the graphics settings that will improve the FPS but show minimal difference between maximum and lower settings?

I want to game to look as good as possible but with the highest FPS i can get for a smooth experience without spending money that i havent got!

    Thanks

    Much love x

Turn off shadows completely, this should increase the FPS you receive.

You can also limit action animation for other players in the character settings.

i forget where to turn off weather but that helps, especially in the shroud area I find. If depth of field isnt already off then that too as FFXIV's take on it is butt-ugly anyway (no offence meant).
having said that, 45-50 fps dropping to 30 isnt all that bad. my machines only kicking out ~10 while in south shroud's FATEs XD

Thank you, i will try and turn them lower, as i still want the game to look really nice and have all the effects.

Does anyone notice any big differences between playing on maximum settings and normal / high?

I cannot really see a difference other than my fps goes much higher, but i just dont want to be missing out on lovely looking visual effects

I was running max on my 7770 and the FPS weren't ideal so I dropped it down to High (Laptop) and its running buttery smooth. Haven't really noticed a difference in appearance.

Thank you all for your replies

Thats kind of where i am at the minute, i have a GTX660SC. I may try those settings and see if i get much of a FPS increase, the main thing is not being able to really tell a difference between max and lower settings to still get the great visuals and immersion into the world!
