Duty finder is a disaster

You will have your ups and down with any random parties. i used DF on brayflox first party, tank was a troll i was creating /assist macro when pulls i run in to help and he leaves right in the middle of the fight with a "FU", everyones ??!!. 15 min later lucky tank joined us. he was marking and explained boss fights and beat it easy. Also yesturday i did titan at lvl 35(i think), wiped a few times but we learned and beat it. it was great feeling sticking together learning and trying ideas out with a group. you have to remind yourself sooner or later you will get a good group or get pass a dungon/fight or that gear. i already know i have darklight gear just a matter or time .

I've ran about 50 Duty Finder groups, from Lv.15~41 dungeons. As tank, though.

Generally people are good, even if some of them obviously deal much less damage than they could at their levels, all the runs are smooth, with the occasional wipe when people try to get used to the new encounter mechanisms.

I have only been forced to leave once when a THM ignored repeated requests to target the same enemy. Normally I wouldn't have cared because I can hold aggro. But this THM obviously knows how to deal maximum damage, and so did the other lancer in the party. That in itself is good and I can deal with the enmity, but the THM consistently targets unmarked mobs or "2" instead of "1"---he waits for me to mark and then choose the one marked "2"---and the lancer can't be bothered to switch targets when I try to accommodate the THM by re-marking what the THM is attacking.

So I end up having to build high enmity on two different mobs at all times. I could keep aggro, but it was much more work than I wanted at that time, not to mention the THM was behaving like it's his life's mission to troll me. So after trying to communicate with the THM twice, the third time he did that I said I'm done, and after the battle ended I said good-bye and left.

And BTW, that party was all JP tagged. However the THM had not said even one word in response to my requests, so it's possible he actually doesn't understand Japanese.

From my experience, the worst types are the "skillful" but arrogant type. The "bad" DPS who can't deal proper damage anyway are easily compensated for.

But then these arrogant ones are rare and few. In general I've had good experience in the Duty Finder. Also I have both EN and JP tags up (I can communicate somehow in Japanese), and EN tagged players are more likely to rush you on by pulling for you (which for me, means the healer is waaaaay back and I'm ain't gonna pull before the healer gets here).

OP is a healer so perhaps there are bunch of bad tanks that I simply don't run into because I'm a tank. :3

Duty finder is a joke after 50. The primal fights either require good gear or good players. There really needs to be some sort of gear check on the duty finder. Getting DPS that cannot live an unavoidable mechanic and get 1 shot is not acceptable. When Garuda, for example, uses Reckoning and you still have all 4 pillars, in a SCH bubble and you still die, you should not even be allowed to join the Duty :/

need minimum AF armor and weapon as close to 50 as possible. then you will win if you can stay alive.

I believe the pillars work on the mechanic of more hp - more protection. i.e. Even if you have 4 pillars up, if they all have low life, your party will still wipe.

Hopefully DF is not a joke after 50. I'm in a great FC but I'd like to join up with people I don't know and accomplish awesome things with them.

No, I see people in their AF armor getting 1 shot by her all the time. It's really frustrating.

You can have 4 lowest level pillars and it's fine, as long as you have all 4. As soon as you're missing one pillar, all dps will get 1 shot pretty much.

I encountered only one problem with the duty finder.
There was a tank that explained the Titian strategy to the 2 NEW guys that joined us like this:

"Avoid shit, kill him"

Nothing about the ring outs, nothing about Titans heart, nothing about how he imprisons a player.
And he expected that they would perform flawless... some people are just stupid you can't have everything.

This is a problem both of the system for not checking if you are actually geared (You could still queue to a hard mode primal with lvl 15 greens) and of the people queuing themselves. I understand that people want to keep going and get shinies all the time, but man.. Before queueing for something like that do a little introspection and gear check yourself. If you are not ready, go farm some more gear, otherwise you will be wasting your time and 7 others'.
