Because you can't register it on the website. Not to mention they changed the website very shortly after people started having issues

That screen that shows service 1 and says create new service account. You have to scroll down in order to see the buttons 'BACK' and 'NEXT'. As long as it shows Final Fantasy XIV 1 is radio button'd hit the NEXT key.

Okay, I finally got Agent Kristian H at ~10:15 PM EST. He helped me and supposedly fixed my account, leaving on this note:
---Agent Kristian H: Ok all done everything is fixed Are there any different issues I can assist you with right now?
---You: So, service acct 2 is gone, and service acct 1 has all the time now?
---Agent Kristian H: Service account 2 is still there and will be remove but for right now service account 1 is good to go
I checked my account, and it said Service Account 1 is Inactive, and Service Account 2 has 29 days remaining. Did this happen and correct itself for others? Or did Kristian H just delete my character?

Like DualShear said, someone with the code please write out step by step exactly how you registered the new code if it worked properly for you. I'm going to be extra cautious when I get mine.

By the way, those who got their email just now, how long ago did you talk to customer support? I only managed to get through and have my ticket escalated about 6 hours ago.
