I have a couple of friends who have been waiting to play on Hyperion too, I understand SE doesn't want servers to be flooded but here is a solution, how about making world transfers available to only the new worlds(servers) and lock them as soon as they reach world capacity?

Yeah, I feel you, I currently have 5 close friends waiting to get into Hyperion that are locked out as well as a bunch of others I've lost count of from my old XI linkshell or friends of friends.

Part of the issue is look at how many people have friends waiting to get onto this server, and look at the server population problems we already have. Opening this world up to new character creation is not going to help the problem. I doubt we're going to see a real solution until server transfers are available, and even then, they would need to make a new NA Legacy server for people to transfer to and let it be free to encourage people to utilize that feature if we're going to get any relief.

Well, there is the consideration of people who have friends on other servers who want to come over, so it's possible that even more characters could end up on the server were there to be a transfer. I, for one, am in that situation -- a buddy on a different server.

They really, really need to open this up by the end of the day... people are getting angry, and I don't blame them. I, for one, have been waiting for my friend since Early Access... And since our FC is on Excalibur, no one wants to lose time playing another character that we're going to abandon anyway...

But then, Square forces us to do things we don't want to do... I'm honestly not sure I like their customer approach...

Edit: @Those saying that more characters would make the server crash: Absolutely not. The character cap has already been reached for many servers way before last night. But then, earlier this morning, lots of them servers were up. In fact, look at these JP servers. Every single Legacy Server is open. And they aren't experiencing any issues.

My only hope is that they want to balance population and when peak time will arrive, they will open gates.

Yeah well, there's nothing left to do but wait and see. Those friends might have to wait until the server transfers open up. It's sucky I admit, but in my opinion it's not something that should warrant this much anger. Then again, that's my opinion.

And I was locked out of phase 4 from opening day, endured Early Access and all the login problems from launch. I'm slowly working my way back to where I should have been. I'll be there soon, at the top.

If you count Phase 4, Early Access and up to now, it's around 4 weeks these people have lost, trying to create a character on either Hyperion or Excalibur. And server transfer will cost money and not be available until at least another 2weeks (if we're bein optimist)

Please unlock Hyperion! I also have friends who purchased the game recently and would very much like to play with me. It sucks telling them to wait when they are all really excited to play!
