with all the content and addtions thats will be added between now and the release of the ps3 for free that could of potentially been put into a purchasable copy think your self lucky!
*** that, I'm not spending more money on this game. Give me content (that should have been in the game before it was released) through updates. I already shelled out $70 for the collectors edition under a year ago.

I do consider myself lucky to some extent, but as its been said - we're basically Beta Testing for the Re-Launch. They really haven't given us anything substantial yet. I mean, they couldn't launch an expansion saying "20 new NMs for level 30 gear!" and "40 Side-Quests that amount to 100k gil and gear you'll throw away!" and "Monsters and Ability Effects 1.5 to 2x bigger!" That's not an expansion.
They're still teasing us with Grand Companies and Dungeons. They'll add those and if its still free, then it will be lucky because I think the game should have launched with basically everything it already has and Companies and some Dungeon content (though that could have come in at around month 2 or 3 and I'd have been satisfied).
The game is on the cusp of what I thought it would be and almost right on schedule - 6 months later. Though still more work to be done on Battle System and whatever else they cryptically and vaguely comment on (jobs & armory, I'm looking at you). It's really time to hammer those systems out and Re-Launch by September (in my opinion) with a finished product, plus additional content (zones, jobs, dungeons, HNM - an expansion worth) and this game will be good to go a year late with re-hooked subscribers.
I really expect fees to kick in around then, too. I'd pay now, but I suspect many wouldn't.
That's my vision, anyway. Still waiting on the developers'. ^^
I'll happily take your money.
New classes/jobs do not imply an expansion pack, and a new class/job system is forthcoming.
An expansion at this time makes little sense. The core areas have not yet been completed.
Player
... to not set up for future expanding seems stupid to me. I'm hopeful they don't have any teams dedicated to making an expansion (though in the same vein it wouldn't surprise me for them to want to make us pay for content in the near future to recover some of their losses).
It's not like we expect it on the shelves tomorrow.
Also @ Lerris - New skills typically DO mean expansion if you use XI as a reference. No job was ever added spontaneously in a patch. So if they add a boat load of content for PS3 launch including zones, missions, new skills (classes). That's pretty much a content of an expansion for free in the "FF" meaning of the word. XIV could change that meaning of course but that remains to be seen.
No need to insult. He just wants those jobs/new classes and was letting people know.
Actually considering that FFXI came to western shores with Rise of the Zilart packaged with it, I would not put it past Square Enix to use an expansion as a major selling point for PC and PS3 when they relaunch their marketing campaign for the MMO.
and you got 1year of F2P which come to a 155.40$ take off your 70$ that 85$ of F2Pwe sure are lucky huh
