Expansion pack....when?!

Im pretty sure that they will release an expansion by the end of the year. Why? Because they need money and we need content so.....yeah! (personal opinion btw)

I would like to see the xpac before PS3 release so that the box artwork and content will include the new stuff to boost sales.

So i see it as:
Battle fix, June.
2-3 good content patches, June/July/August.
Steam release, September.
Expansion (Ishgard, Chocobos, Classes ect), October.
PS3 release, December.

You can add 2011 or 2012 to the end of those months lol!

All you mentioned isnt an expansion for me, its the very basic you can expect from a ff- game.
It would just seem stupid if they released it and named it expansion. That would leave a bad feeling for most gamers/fans imo.

It would be like you buy a single player game and the expansion offers the last 1/3 including the epic endfights etc...

Its unfinished on its very basic, so finishing the fundation of that game isnt an expansion...

The PS3 Relaunch will likely have an x-pack associated with it with new Cover Art (as will the PC version) but it will all be content that "we the beta-testers" already have installed and have tested. They might, however unlock some new classes with the Relaunch which we just need to do quests to unlock.

I feel quite certain that SE will want to have all of the bugs & balancing issues worked out to avoid another failed launch. (Assuming they learn from their mistakes.) I also believe they will not charge us for content but will start P2P at Relaunch/Reboot.

If the PS3 Launch is successful then perhaps SE can come to an agreement with Microsoft and we will get an official Expansion with Xbox360 release next year.

(Solution for Xbox issue : Allow Xbox-Live to be the sole distributor for FFXIV that way Microsoft makes some money from retail sales but the game is still playable on Xbox Silver and SE still gets the monthly fees.

this thread makes me laugh. as other has mentioned, the core game isn't even complete to the new directors standards, as why it is still f2p (in other words, i guess you can say it is still in beta >_>). and you are already asking about an expansion? lol
