Isn't the patch size 1027.31 MB (on PC) ? Sezuel mentioned 1027MB and my patcher with download on-going is expecting a 1027.31MB file according to what is displayed.
Well, if someone who can download the patch and knows the data to be uncorrupted could somehow get a torrent out there that would be lovely. Not sure with how it deletes finished patch data but I am sure someone might know of a way. Like many others I have this error and have had it since b3, I got my game data off a torrent and it is very frustrating that nothing has been done about his or even very simply offer a site for customers to download the patch outside of the launcher.
Before you ask, yes I have taken every step, trick, change that has been out there including some of my own ill fated attempts to get the damned patches.
P.S. This only happens with FFXIV, no other game.
Just confirming, I downloaded until 1000.71mb from 1027.31mb, and it starts to "patch" and i get the error. So frustrating. And yes please, someone share the game patched =/

I found a fix.
for Windows 7 only, not sure about Vista and 8 but should be the same.
1. go to \SquareEnix\FINAL FANTASY XIV - A Realm Reborn\boot\
2. right click on ffxivboot, properties, then go to compatibility tab
3. check on "Run this program as an administrator", click on OK button
4. do the same with ffxivlauncher and ffxivupdater in the same folder.
5. try to login again, should be ok now.
Just tried this with ALL .exe files set to compatibility windows 7 and run as admin still got the error at the same spot ... and Alesshs confirmed the correct spot 1000.71 of 1027.31I found a fix.

Still having the problem.

Did you try replacing your boot files with new ones? this works for some.

update: it gets about 75% done with install before the error occurs (About the time it would start installing the incomplete files)
Same thing here my friend, still same thing. Before was getting error right after "start patching", and now its get to 75% of installing and then error again.. I just hope someone can just upload the whole game at torrent so I can download it and play... I dont think we will find any solution soon from SE..
