i just checked the old list and they are the only 3 new ones that are appearing on the current world list... hmm should clean my house :P
One of the other changes in this patch is limiting your Duty Finder to a group of servers rather than all of them. SE say this resulted in a restriction on server capacity (as the DF had to deal with every player on all servers for your region I imagine). So restricting the DF to a group of servers allows them to increase the capacity of the current ones. I do not know by how much, and we'll have to wait and see whether this resolves the 1017 world full issue.
So your duty finder will not be looking across all servers for that missing tank/healer :-) but the servers it will be accessing will have more people on them.
Hopefully an afk kick will be added soon, this is overdue and should have been in at launch. As for a decent server queue system - also overdue, but hoping that it's not needed as much with the increased server sizes. They do need to think about introducing transfers asap if there are still queues.

I'm wondering if they seriously think 1 server per each area, assuming we are correct about that plus on the assumption they aren't upgrading the current worlds, will be enough? Those are gonna light up in seconds and then burn if they are the same as the current ability of the ones we had. Hopefully they just 'turning on' the new ones in chunks and we'll see more.
On another note, nice to see Pandy back, was my first server ever for FFXI. Probly won't be NA though knowing my luck. :/

I think SQ-EX should add more 3 servers for JP and another 3 servers for NA/EU. Refer to Op said, we still experience 1017.

Frankly - those who want to be AFK know how to circumvence this anyway.
There actually is one (see my post above) - the problem is that it was overloaded as well.

Yup. There were 50 servers before tonight's maintenance. Now there are 53. Unless more start to show up, it looks like they just added three servers.
Personally like it that they aren't going wild adding new worlds. If you're thinking long term, past the initial rush of people that just try the game out, it's not going to be fun if you end up on a world that is more or less empty a few months in. Recent example being SWTOR where they kept adding more and more servers at release, and a bit in, some saw less than 20 people in the main city during prime time.
Yea but the turn out for this game is a bit bigger than they expected. I mean the 5 extra that they gave us at launch filled up in a day easily, and we still have people who haven't even touched the game yet.Personally like it that they aren't going wild adding new worlds. Some kind of afk is needed
Hopefully they will get the queue system working properly
Below is formation from SE's Naoki_Yoshida re server df limit:
There are currently 50 worlds and this is split into two data centers with 25 worlds. Currently the Duty Finder matches from these 25 worlds within the data center, but with the world increase it will go over the amount of process it can handle, for that reason we will be grouping some of the worlds within the data centers together, by doing this it will be possible to accommodate much more people.
AFK
We have been receiving requests to add a feature to automatically log out characters that login to the game but going AFK without playing.
We are looking into implementation, but please understand that we are currently concentrating and prioritizing to resolve the stress and increasing above mentioned worlds.
