Signed. I hate having to get off my mount to talk to an NPC.

I sort of just wish when you entered a camp or outpost, you auto-dismounted your mount. In an earlier post, someone mentioned immersion.
It totally breaks my immersion that half the buildings I walk into are full of giant birds or leopard-monsters, or the fact all the outposts would become feathery-oriented Running of the Chocobos for NPCs. No wonder all of them dislike adventurers so much!
The smell. Can you imagine the smell?
But that's just my opinion!![]()
What a lazy request OP
It's probably the way you talk to NPCs in this game that's gonna crash while mounting or something. All right click interactions are quite different from other MMOs, your hotkeys disappear, lose control of character (hopefully no mobs are chasing you), camera angle forced to the intended angle, etc. I don't think it's gonna be easy to change all of this.
Dismounting, on the other hand is quite similar from what we know. Since you can right click or press hotkey to dismount, the mechanic is probably the same thing. Forced dismount while talking to NPC or casting on a mount shouldn't be hard to implement into this game.

If I can queue and enter a dungeon using the Doodoo Finder on my mount... dot dot dot. They'v explained this before- it's a complicated situation. Many of the dialogues and cutscenes use your character in it's present state when you talk to them, and thus if you're mounted it can create issues. So it's not something they can just turn on- it would require a fair bit of work to adjust, otherwise it would have to be limited to only NPCs that just talk and don't use the camera / do cutscenes.
This game likes us to be annoyed by TINY things that can make quality of life easier. Like Brunt Force. Why the hell shouldn't that just be automatic after getting Chain 4? I REALLY need to press a button?
Oh, it really separates the good players from the bad ones who can dismount and mount, amirite?
Swarmed quest givers already happen. Adding mounts to it isn't going to change anything, so long as the icon is above the head of the NPC, you shouldn't have a problem. And if you do, PEBKAC.

How can people use the mounts blocking npcs as an excuse when people can have a chocobo companion out, as well as a pet if you're smn/sch, and a minion if you like just for shits and giggles. Some people come up with such silly reasons, it's not that hard to hit tab or press x on your controller to target an npc that's being blocked by a person.
