Last thing we need is people talking to NPC's on their mounts.

I see ur point, but i played wow for years and i have never had a problem with that....... But i understand you

Yea it would streamline things if we could talk to NPC's mounted. A simple shift click could fix the NPC being covered up by mounts.
There's an easy fix for this though. Make the necessary NPC's (the ones that will see the most traffic from players) permanent fixtures. Models that cannot be trotted upon by Chocobo nor Courel mount alike. Lord knows they're already good enough at making impenetrable invisible walls.

I couldn't help but laugh long and hard at this because you saw (and as this proves still see) this a lot with new content and holidays in WoW. Regardless, It really wasn't much of a problem and I often find myself riding up to npc trying turn in quest only to be fed an error. It's a niggling little annoyance that I can largely ignore, and would compromise simply with an auto-dismount option for talking to npc or using an ability.
Now what's really annoying is that when a group TP is sent out you'll miss it if you're mounted. I can understand if they don't want people TP'ing into towns mounted, but at least give us a little confirmation box while on the mount so we can then dismount and accept it.
They'v explained this before- it's a complicated situation. Many of the dialogues and cutscenes use your character in it's present state when you talk to them, and thus if you're mounted it can create issues. So it's not something they can just turn on- it would require a fair bit of work to adjust, otherwise it would have to be limited to only NPCs that just talk and don't use the camera / do cutscenes.
No way. Don't even waste your time asking for that feature, it will never happen
Also, learn to stop at 2 meters from the npc, not only to leave it clear for others, but also because some people are watching the npc in first person to see their animation synched with the text box.
Ha, if you can also stop to get inside houses on your mount, it will be cool, use your sprint then if you're late.
I personally stop my chocobo at the stables where he'll find all comfort even if it's for a couple of minutes.
If I was on Coeurl, I leave him to his freedom before crowded areas as he could become quite nervous.
