Forums will slow down with days but the complaints will threads will still pile up until some more patches. Alot of people are passionate about this game and some go even farther and are just plain crazy about it.

MMORPG players have been carefully educated to be whiny, overly demanding, full of spite and grudges and ultimately prone to think they "know better" of those stupid, useless developers (the "armchair developer syndrome") even if they never put a line of code on a screen.
It's unfortunate, but you will never find a forum dedicated to ANY mmorpg (fan-run or official) that's not like that.
I absolutely loved the video though...
The biggest thing is the fact people are making multiples of the same topic.
Obviously, between the other things MMORPG players have been carefully educated to believe that THEIR suggestion is better than anyone else's. As such, it deserves undivided attention. No matter if it's identical![]()
That.. was really funny XD
That said though, I've been shocked by how civil most people are being around here. There's a bit of thoughtless bashing going on but even the people behind that are refraining from being jerks for the most part... from what I've seen.
Then again, last official forum I was involved in was EVE Online's, so.. hm >.>

1year for now you still see the same ppl talking bad about the game 5years later they still going to talk bad about the game. When the game get shut down they be crying there ass off on how hard they work on FFXIV and move on to the new FF online and talk shit about it then there kids grow up playing the new ff and they do the same thing. 50000000000000000 years later you still see them bitching. the matter of the fact matter how much SE add to FFXIV someone going to be unhappy about it.
LOL Gath you actually posted the video link I sent you here... Well done my friend. Well done.
And you've even managed to get it to 2 pages of posts so far. Even better.
@Zenaku and maybe globally: Do you think those 'people' will still be around when you have to pay monthly for it given that the forums require an active FFXIV account?
P.S. Gath for Senior Forum Moderator so he can put that in his signature and beat people with the knowledge that he is the Senior Forum Moderator! Ruler of forums! Keeper of the smiley face! Quoter of previous posts! <3 Gath

I am rather tired of seeing two or more threads talking about the same thing.
I tend to agree with this. While I think vociferous criticism is helpful (and obviously more of it would've been helpful during beta, but people like Abriael drowned out the rational criticism and ultimately hurt the game), suggestions are basically pointless. Unless you're a world-class game developer, you probably don't know any better than the devs at SE, who are also world-class devs.
Therefore, it's terrifying to see SE grovel to the player-base and release these silly PR polls like we know any better than they do. Where's the vision? Where's the breakneck speed of content updates?
EDIT: It's important to note that the current dev team may be doing all they can. My pet theory is that the game is woefully underfunded and understaffed, and that the dev team needs more financial resources in order to make the necessary changes.
