duty finder= hours of waiting to find a duty?

In phase 3, the duty finder was amazing! it was perfect in every way. then phase 4 came and it got slower what we waited for in phase 3 for 5 min took 15... then early access and oh god minimum 30 min? can someone explain when i click join in progress and all four languages it takes 30 min to find one person when beata ver took far less and was purrfect? will they fix this in version 2.1? or Wednesday, like the sticky on top of this forum says? i don't understand this... do they have a crap IT team ? there in japan they should have better IT's than US right? is it me or anyone else?
I don't have time for duty finding but i want to be one of the few to beat TBCoB before 2.1! does anyone have answers to these questions or more? (find out next time on 20 questions=P) kiding aside these are valid questions that allot of people want answered if anyone knows please feel free to post. Thanks!

If you are playing a DPS its going to take longer. If you are playing a Tank or Healer its rather fast. SE doesn't control how many people queue up with tank and healer jobs.

The problem isn't necessarily in the duty finder itself, but what classes people are queuing up for it as. When queuing as a damage role, the wait is long because there are a lot of players also queuing as damage roles. The queue times are a lot quicker for healers and tanks because not as many people are playing those classes or are making parties through other means than the duty finder.

After tonights maintenance they are going to split the Duty Finder group within the datacenter, so that should help speed up the matching system, how much faster? I wouldn't know, sorry.

I played either a range dps/healer or a tank/melee dps in every MMO I played. For once I'd like to play a pure dps class without having to tank. These queue times are nothing tbh, so much to do in the game while waiting.

They sort of do. They design the game a certain way. There are steps they could have taken to garner more interest in Tank/Healer classes. More tank/healer classes would be a good first step, right?

Another issue is a problem with the duty finder itself. When parties were formed by shouts, people knew which class was needed. So someone might answer a shout for a Tank class where that person might instead queue as DD. The duty finder doesn't give any such feedback. More transparency is needed, like the percentage of what class currently queuing for what duty or other real-time statistics.

I've NEVER had the DF work for me without prior being in a party. If I signed into DF solo, I could let it sit for 4 hours and get nothing. Mind you, I am DPS. I now run dungeons with the FC, and when my buddy the PLD rolls with us, we start the INSTANT he registers us for the dungeon. It's tanks and heals that ever have to worry about the DF. But if you are DPS, prepare for agony ^___^

Yeah, what others have said. I will say though, if it was three dps instead of two, it might be faster, not sure why they picked parties of four. I also play dps, and have yet to see "hours long" waits. I think my longest wait since launch was half an hour, and my quickest was about five minutes. Those were fresh start ones, and when i selected Join in Progress, as a dps, i could get easily under five minutes. It wasn't always a way to get a group that would finish, but was interesting.
