I'm not bashing the OP. I just want my question answered. I'm seriously concerned about this. If they 'accidentally' posted my real name, I won't be happy either. =/

Could you elaborate why you would be so upset? I'm trying to understand but I can't. Who the hell is going to know your name is your name? How do you know that there isn't another person who shares your name on that list? Not being an asshole, but even if you were a celebrity why would it matter? Someone going to see your irl name and come kill you? Are you a mob leader? I can''t think of any situation where your name in some credits is going to adversely affect you. Correct me if I'm wrong.

he has his reasons, and hes doing what he needs to do. yes that sounds adult to me.
sounds like your man because his opinion isnt the same as yours, doesnt that make you childish?
until he says that no one should play this game, this game is crap, SE will fail, your all idiots if your not with me, then we have no problem here.
if you cant respect the will of one person for his own reasons then grow up.
stop over simplifying things to get your point across

What he doesnt understand is that he does not have legal rights to the name in the game. As soon as you input a name into an online video game under a specific licensing you lose all privileges and rights to the name unless you can show via court that the specific name in the game is directly attached to your social security.
In other words, by law the name is not your name and square enix can do what they want with it.

I understand why you might say that. Yes, in most situations it would not matter. I am not an incredibly private person, nor am I afraid of someone coming to kill me. I'm also far from a celebrity... But I am a contracted freelance writer, and I do this for a living. My real name appears on educational materials. While I don't think it's necessarily a 'problem' for kids to see that the writer of the book they're reading is associated with a videogame, it's something I would prefer to avoid. I'd like my work life and gaming life to be separate. It is for this reason that I put my online alias and character name rather than my real one. (My real name is incredibly unique. I've only met a handful of people with my first name, and the only people I know of with my last name are directly related to me.)Could you elaborate why you would be so upset? I don't think it is your place to try to justify the way someone feels. That would be like me calling you names for your current feelings. So I'll try to correct you since you asked, yes you are wrong to say anything you've said as it is based on his personal situation and feeling, not yours.Could you elaborate why you would be so upset? Thanks for this. I don't mind explaining my own personal situation because my real name ISN'T posted here... but what you say is true. Everyone has their reasons. When SE asked me to input a name for the Legacy credits, I typed in Ryuko Kanzeon. That's the only name that should appear. I'm wondering if the OP accidentally typed in the wrong name, or if he gave a name that was too 'inappropriate' to appear on the roster and SE defaulted to his real name. I've yet to look at the credits myself and see where my name falls, but if SE is 'accidentally' putting the wrong name, this could turn into a big issue -- and yes, a legal one at that. I wouldn't seek legal action but I wouldn't fault others for doing that if SE did in fact accidentally put a bunch of real names in the credits. Of course, I don't know if that's the case yet. I'll have to wait and see.I don't think it is your place to try to justify the way someone feels. That would be like me calling you names for your current feelings. No, you don't. Expressing one's feelings is never wrong, no matter how wrong their argument is. That being said, I was curious so I asked. Call me a name for what I believe and see what happens. (nothing, opinions are like assholes, everyone has one and there is no reason to get bent out of shape over it.)
Opinion- People who spell poorly make themselves look stupid.
