Go fuck your Cactuar plush while you cry yourself to sleep that Squeenix has wronged you and you can't even admit it. Cloud will not be there to save you when the same shit still happens AFTER they do their "fix".You can't be bother to spend 5 seconds and 3 mouseclicks to log back in? Saying that "if I want to sit AFK for 12 hours because I pay for the game" is probably the most ridiculous thing I've heard anyway say about this issue.
Also, character stores are gone. Get over it. Server capacity increase is a temporary fix until more people create characters on that server.
and please consider the opposite side of the coin: I would be just as annoyed if I got kicked from a game world I paid to let my character be in.
the 1017 is a set-back, yes. but as an example, my car doesn't eject me when I sit idle in it too long smoking.
Ameroth-
To continue your analogy, if you park your car where it's blocking access to a retail outlet so you can be first in line when you decide to come back to it, the police will come by and impound your vehicle.
This is just a strained rationalization.
uh instead of making worlds bigger, limit the amount of ppl that can join that fuckin world stop overloading worlds, sorry if u don't get to choose the world u want, u shoulda joined earlier, but i shouldn't have to ever freakin wait because u guys overload all the worlds, limit the shit so at anytime eveyone assigned to that server can be on, this is a rookie freakin problem, this is what phase 4 was for!!!! get it together!!!!
Jesus, that escalated quickly. Go take a Xanax.
I like Square Enix, I don't think they've wronged me. I'm merely trying to explain to those of you that have never played WoW or Rift (or anything that wasn't FFXI), that it's ridiculous to not want AFK kick. The common argument is "I pay for this game, why should it kick me!?" I don't really understand the complaint. You hit "login" again and voila, you're back in the game! Can you really not be bothered to do that if it means reducing server congestion? You sound like a self-entitled spoiled brat. Get over yourselves. Surely you realize that "I should be able to sit AFK and do nothing for 12 hours because I pay for the game" is an extremely feeble argument.
I suppose. And that does make sense. The big difference, I guess, being that my car is a real-world object, affecting real-world situations, and potentially even causing a dangerous situation.
This is a video game.
Except that's completely different. You're still sitting in your car. This is someone parking their character in a game, not playing, and then because they are there, preventing someone else from playing.
It's like parking your car at a business and walking somewhere completely different just because you wanted to be absolutely sure you had a space, which stopped someone else from parking there.
People like that get their car towed. For good reason. An AFK kick system is needed.
Why are we still complaining when they are about go expand capacity and open new servers? Also you apparently didn't read, yoshi has plans to implemnt an afk boot timer, but they have other pressing matters to do before they inplment it.
SE knows this issue is discussed by the community and a Rep posted on it here: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...ck-Timer/page4
If what they do to the servers in the next two days doesn't alleviate the congestion problems then they will possibly look at implementing an auto log due to inactivity.
Well, point of fact I have read Yoshi's comments to that effect, and that's not what he said. He said they had "considered" the AFK issue but assigned it a lower priority behind server upgrades. Reading is good. Reading with comprehension is even better.
