An easy fix would have been to just extend the early access until they were able to merge accounts. That way people could play on their main until they were able to get everything sorted.

It's such an obvious fix that has gotten brought up so many times that it's mind boggling why they haven't done so. The only possible explanation is that they DON'T want all of us with this problem playing for now, because even without the thousands of us logging on, the servers are STILL having major issues. The server situation would be even worse if all of us were able to play again immediately.

I'd love to chat tomorrow to get some more answers from SE... but sadly, I'll be at work after my 3 day weekend. I won't be able to get in touch with anyone, or even try, until it is so late in the day that I'll be bounced out of the wait queue.
Well lucky for me i work around computers so ill just sneak on the chat when im working...Just dont know where to actually find the chat link to get into NA's queue.
it's a secret (or at least SE set it up to be one). You have to make a ticket, follow it through to submission then you should get page with options to contact via email support, chat support or phone. But usually when I go through this process it only leads me to the email support option.

I think they decided to set their live chat support system up sort of like NM/Lottery Spawns in FFXI. Pretty much everyone NEEDS an item off a single NM, so they make that NM a rare spawn with a 24-hour respawn and an 8 hour window. Once you figure out the mechanics of how it spawns (finding the live chat link / killing the lottery trash through ticket submission), you have a general idea of when the live chat NM may pop. Then you sit and wait. and wait. and wait. until you KNOW it's about to pop, you're number 1 in the queue, and BAM someone else gets the claim (a JP player who has a server data load advantage of seeing the NM spawn a few seconds before you do): "There are currently no agents available, disconnected"
