FFXIV is just a spectator sport. You can't actually DO anything.

Lore wise people are calling this the peaceful times (aka before Yoshi's stated "big change").. but i feel that's just an excuse from players and the developers; it is just a way of telling players to hang tight for hopeful content.

might want to pay attention to all the lore. Lore wise Eorzea is in a state of calm. The guilds were formed to give all the armies, mercenaries, and tradesmen something to occupy their tome while keeping their skills on par. The intro story so far is about the strange occurrences that are leading up to something bigger. Which was how ffxi started also.
In simpler terms, its all BS because the game has nothing for you to do yet. Its nice to think of it in terms of lore but about 600K people pre-ordered this game IIRC and I don't think they cared about "the calm". Either way, that's long done now, and I can't wait to see what is coming.might want to pay attention to all the lore. Lore wise Eorzea is in a state of calm.
