Time is running out, nobody wants to wait indefinitely even though there is no monthly fee now.

    Btw, has anyone tried Rift? I looked at it but it doesn't look interesting to me at all, perhaps I didn't look hard enough :P
    I am hoping that all this build up is leading to a huge update. Lets face it they have a big dev team and if these little updates we are getting are the fruits of their labour then this game is in big trouble. I have been hoping that these little patches are just things to keep us occupied while work carries on with the big patch and gameplay overhaul. Hopefully all this build up is for the redesign and battle system which will bring about a big change in itself, so hopefully we won't have to wait much longer.

    As for Rift I haven't played it but someone in our LS went to play it on the free weekend a week or two ago, they logged in for our leve run and told us it was amazing, then after finishing our first run on Dunes they said they couldn't be bothered with FFXIV anymore said goodbye and we haven't seen them since ; ;

    I think if they can get it to work properly the stamina gauge could feel like an ATB gauge from older FF games. nostalgia ftw
    I was hoping that the stamina bar would work like in FFXIII so each move would use a slot on the bar and you could combo moves. Then as you ranked up more slots would be added so you use more powerful moves or chain together combo's of less powerful ones. Needless to say I was bitterly disappointed in what I got ; ;

    Completely agree.

    If there isn't a huge, sweeping change coming soon, then this game is certainly doomed.

    I hope so too, but I don't think they actually have a big dev team. If I remembered correctly, the list where they showed us with all the "little" changes are long and they only have like 5-6 programmers (I think, could be wrong though). This leads me to believe there aren't any big ground-breaking changes in the 6 months or so or they'd announce it.

    As for 6 months later, I think many of us will no longer be interested in this game anymore.

    The addition of quests, companies and a new chunk of story, restructuring the entire combat system and the way classes play arent ground breaking changes to the current game?

    Besides, they cant just give us some giant 5 GB patch so we get everything at once. Its best to implement all the small changes in patches, so when you throw in something game changing, you dont inundate the player with the file size.

    I like combat fine. The only things I hate are

    A: UI having difficulties with Keyboard (it shows the stamina cost of the last spell you cast instead of the current spell you are confirming) -> They are working on it
    B: Input Lag -> Don't know if they are working on it but they should be
    C: Inability to cancel spells before they begin to cast (This + B makes it hard to have reactionary gameplay...too many times have I died because I get hit by enemy spells midcast of Scourge, wishing I could've canceled it 2 seconds ago to start casting Sacrifice...)

    These are the 3 big problems I have with the battle system, aside from things like the lack of an auto-attack and AoE toggles.
