On a serious note, I don't know if this is your first MMO or what, but nothing will be done about RMT's. If anything you should take in to consideration that If people didn't buy from them they wouldn't exist. I find it ironic that in lieu of a pure capitalist system, the inability of many western players to be good at a video games helps sustain the lives of over half a million Chinese families for providing a service that doesn't even exist in the real world.

The last shout I saw was $5.00 for 10k, and that to me is hilarious... 10k can be made in under 10 minutes by even the srubbiest of srubs, but obviously people are buying, otherwise deflation would force them to lower their price. Regardless, the fact still remains that there are over half a million people in China who make their living off this industry, and they're working for (on average) 100 US dollars a week to survive and feed their families.

The moral of my story is that no matter how many of them get banned, or how many precautions are taken, they will always exist as long as there is a demand, so if you want to blame someone, blame the srubs that buy from them, but take into consideration that people make their living off this, and somewhere in the world a small child in the People's Republic of China is depending on an RMT as a parent to eat this week. Also consider that the only way this effects you at all is because "shouts" in an MMO are obnoxious to you in a game where you no longer even need to read shouts in lieu of a cross server duty finder, so basically you are saying you would rather have a 6 year old Chinese child starve than read obnoxious shouts in your chat log that you could easily filter? I'm just kidding... That would be cruel! Or am I >XD

I personally hate that people can buy online currency, but the fact still remains that nothing can, or will ever be done about it, and crying about it is about it on these forums is about as fruitful as posting on Facebook about how much you hate Miley Cyrus. For me to say that no one cares would be a grotesque understatement.

best way to get rid of them: Don't buy gil, especially since it's stupidly easy to make money either through guildleves, or the ingame market. Put them out of business, and no more RMTs, and fewer slots taken up by bots.

Banning their accounts is a Win-Win for Square Enix. SE keeps their money, helps cut down partially on the problem, and forces the sellers to purchase a new account.

I do think they need to make it easier to report and block a botter/spammer.

Also you have to take into consideration that SE would have to pay people to sit there all day and update the ban list, and that's not happening. Why? Because they know you will play the game regardless and it's not financially beneficial for them to pay people to do so. =/

Uh, you can report them, maybe? If everyone does, eventually they aren't going to make enough money to pay the sub fees.
