To the people who are logged in overnight

i always logged out at night
i play after i got back from work and it usually took 30 minutes to log in (thanks to my auto gamepad)
in the morning, i usually got to play for around 1-2 hours, and i can log in just fine without error nor queue
overall, i could play 4-5 hours on weekdays, so no complain from me

except for the last weekend, it's a nightmare

I always log out if I won't be playing for a while. I don't know whether if everyone did that it would help with the login issues or not, but i hope it gives at least one other person a turn to play, and that when they're done, they'll log off. Sometimes looking out for other people is extremely inconvenient, especially when you can't log in for six hours afterward, but I think it's my responsibility to do what I can to help the community. I certainly hope it helps, at least

I suppose a quick fix to the problem of people remaining logged in all night AFK, would be for the servers to crash every few hours or so and boot em off, how do I get this implemented?

I think you're confused about the word "altruism". Just cause it makes you "feel good" doesn't stop it from being altruistic.

yes, im being selfish, as is the person who wants me to log out so they can log in - me and my LS and FC mates are not going to log off because then we all would not be able to play the game together

i dont need anyone but the FC and LS mates i play with, so anyone else would not be a "community" to me - a community is a group of people who rely on each other to get what they need

Are you not being selfish by demanding that he log out. He wants to play just as much as you do, the only difference is he actually got on and doesnt plan on sitting in the log in screen forever and ever. Grow up and realize this is how the real world is. You look after yourself and your friends and forget everyone else cause they arent important. I wouldnt screw myself over just to help some random stranger and im certainly not gonna log off just to let someone i dont even know on the server instead of me.

It doesn't matter so much why someone is willing to help another person out as much as they're actually doing it. Helping people in general, as a whole, makes life easier for everyone, including yourself. Sure it doesn't always work out so great, but that's hardly an excuse to never try.

my LS and FC mates logging off doesnt make life easier for us - we would not be able to play together as we would all log in at different times due to the 1017 error

tell you what, if you and your LS/FC mates log off when me and my LF/FC mates want to log on, we will do the same for you

but we cant do that can we?

because we prolly are all wanting to play at the SAME TIMES

therefore, its a "first come, first served" situation unless SE makes sure that everyone who has a toon on our server can log in at anytime

Wow this topic shows just how pathetic some people are. All of you "mature" (lol at calling yourselves mature and then calling others childish in the same breath) people crying about the afkers need to realize something. You are wrong. The afkers are not the problem, stopping everyone from afking will do NOTHING to help the login issues.

Lets say there are 1k afkers on a given server at this moment. Then lets say there are, lets go pretty conservative here, 3k people trying to login at the same time. Start kicking the afkers(and no, theres no kicking the lot at once, even the most stringent, potent anti-afk setup won't even get half the total afkers, and people go afk at different times) and you turn the occasional drip of login/logouts into a steady flow of drips. The thing is, there will still be 3k people fighting for that handful of extra slots opening every halfhour/hour. The servers will STILL remain bogged down, and you guys will have to find a new scapegoat.
