The thing is, that didn't work for me. I have the Boxed Collector's Edition, and I had no option to add the code directly the the Service Account I was using. Someone told me this was because it was a pre-existing Service Account from 1.0, but that doesn't make sense as the reason when they allowed me to add the Pre-Order/Early Access code to that Service Account.yeah you could do that immediately providing you had another physical copy of the game. Just use the code you get when you buy the new copy, and register it "properly"; go to Mog Station, to your service account 1 press the funny "meteor +" button to add a code to that service account.
DO NOT under any circumstance 'create a new service account'.
It would work immediately, but short of a customer support headache down the road you would essentially be throwing away your other copy.
actually I'm surprised I didn't think of this sooner, but one way out of this pickle may be to just buy a new copy, register that, then as soon as is convenient express your right as a consumer to a refund of the other copy.
Perhaps most people don't want to give SE the satisfaction of their mistake raking them more money (if only for the short term, i.e., until a refund for the first game was handed over)
It's not an option for me because I literally cannot afford another Collector edition. I did consider buying a regular copy in the mean time, but then I decided I'll just wait. But if you had the cash it would essentially get the problem solved and you'd only be out of pocket for as long as it took to get a refund for the first copy you bought.
Checking it's possible to get a refund without too much hassle of course, a second copy would be cheaper then whatever hours on the phone, and this way at least a refund is on the cards. You don't get refunded for time spent on helplines.

sheesh, I think the next time I register something on that thing I'm going to ask an attorney in law to help me with reading each page.

So I just decided to REPLAY again in Service 2 such a non hope solution and let's facing only Error 1017 again. OH MY GOD!! #soothe #soothe #soothe
