Never said I deserve anything, Im just simply not gonna give my spot up for some 'john smith'
Simply put by someone else in this forum or some other topic.... "My enjoyment > your enjoyment"
"White knight," you say. Was it really necessary to resort to such a trite saying instead of expressing an actual opinion?
SE was at fault. They failed to prepare properly for the game's launch. But the past cannot be changed. Until SE fixes the servers, we as a community are left with two options:
1) Work together to ensure that a troubled launch is as enjoyable as possible for everyone participating.
2) Act only for ourselves, caring not what lasting impact our actions have on the community.
You are free to believe what you will. As I wrote before, I do not expect to change the opinions of anyone. I merely express my disappointment and (faltering) hope that the community will improve/recover over time.
So if I buy a movie ticket then told sorry there are no seats....you think some random stranger is gonna get up and give me his seat to enjoy the movie...that we both paid for....NOT A CHANCE IN HELL....so why would people log out after battling through all the bullshit youre all so fond of....cuz it would make me a 'nice guy?" hahahaha what a load of shit.
I'm sorry but no... When you work full time and have responsibilities which limit your playtime, spamming 0 for 5+ hours isn't exactly how you want to spend your weekend. One could argue that's not a very good approach to the situation, what makes me so entitled to play over others? let me ask you something...
Why should I log off? so some random stranger who wouldn't do the same for me can play while I remain locked out? so some random stranger that couldn't care less and is probably gonna AFK as well once he or she gets in?
Increase the capacity, fix the login issues and implement an AFK kicker + Server Queues and we won't have this problem. Giving strangers an open spot isn't worth me sitting there for hours spamming the login, my friendly gesture will go unnoticed and the person I opened the slot too is probably an ass anyway.
You're upset because you can't get in, which is completely understandable and that's why this thread was created.. Having said that, I bet the OP is also AFKing now that he's logged in.
Don't blame the AFKers because you can't login, they AFK for a legitimate reason.
No i wouldn't but i would expect the guy not to leave a bag of popcorn on his seat to a sold out movie to come back and watch the move 8 hours later.
Your comparison is faulty. A more apt example would be if a group of people were told to show up at a theater with limited, unreserved seating for a screening of a movie, and one person decided to sneak into the theater before everyone else to guarantee himself a seat.So if I buy a movie ticket then told sorry there are no seats....you think some random stranger is gonna get up and give me his seat to enjoy the movie...that we both paid for....NOT A CHANCE IN HELL....so why would people log out after battling through all the bullshit youre all so fond of....cuz it would make me a 'nice guy?" hahahaha what a load of shit.
Actually your example makes no sense because none of us 'sneaking in' the game....we all paid and follow the same Terms of Agreement like you....afkers arent some random uninvited gues to the screening....were just lucky enough to get in while you guys spam enter all day.
I even get the 1017 error at the character selection screen. I log out when i am done but it is getting to the point where i just feel it would be better to stay logged in.
I never said it was "Acceptable" I'm saying that it's a legitimate solution because if everyone's doing it, it wont make a difference whatsoever if ONE person decides to log off to be "nice" because in the end, they will get screwed too.
Why should I limit my play time being "nice" when 99% of the community isn't going to follow suite? if everyone did it, of course I would log off... but knowing that my logging out will cause 5-10+ hours of spamming and I have just given someone access to stay logged on forever and AFK, it's not exactly a "nice" thing to do anymore eh?
You need to calm down, go outside or something.
Next time you quote someone, be sure to include the whole thing. Especially when you call out someone for an opinion, which is clearly stated in the post you copied...which means you left it out intentionally...lol"White knight," you say.
