The funny thing is, The People who throw out these - "Stop being a child and log out already you immature piss ants" rants and ti-raids.. are the ones who are causing the issues by not logging out .. Most mature adults and or Mature teens/young adults would just say - "meh not working yet" and go do something else - like read forums filled with horrific temper tantrums to the likes of which you would see in the middle of the grocery isle when a toddler doesn't get the snack he/she picked out. - The double Standards to which most people live by is insanely amusing. Most of you who feel like your actually putting ideals and morals into these people are actually nothing more than just troll bait.

People can log in quiet easy in the mornings. In my experience between noon and eight there is little point trying, unless you want to spend hours attempting. I don't fault people for not logging out at all with the state of the severs.

Until I start logging in instantly every time, I will continue to strategically remain logged in. I log out at night, but I login the next morning before I goto work so that I am good to go when I get home. I would also stop if they actually created a functional queue system. I would gladly wait in line, but this current "grab bag whomever pushes login at the right moment gets in" system shows a huge disregard for the time of players.

People like me who stay AFK are really a symptom of poor management and preperation on the part of SE.

How is this even possible? How does a glaring discrepancy like this even slip through the cracks? It just blows my mind that after 20 years of MMOs, it is even POSSIBLE for an established gaming company to make such a newb mistake.

The responsibility for that lies with precisely one entity - Square Enix. I'm sorry if my "selfishness" offends you, but guess what? I don't know you, don't care about you, and don't have the slightest bit of vested interest in your well-being and happiness. And in any case, you telling me I should log out when I'm not playing is no different than me staying logged in - either way, one of us isn't gonna be able to play when we want to, because if you really think the 1017 issues and character list crashes are going to go away just because people start logging out, you're fooling yourself. This crap has been going on long before the perma-online trend started.

Pretty much sums up the ME Generation in a single paragraph. Can't get more American than that.

I am disappointed with the community. SE may have been at fault, but we should work together to ensure that everyone is able to enjoy the game.

Yet selfishness seems to have won. I do not have much to say, because I know that those who remain AFK will not see reason, probably even lack empathy enough to understand the damage of their actions.

Personally, though, I have been impacted. I have become wary of the people with whom I play. Even though I have been asked to join multiple Free Companies, I have refused--not because I do not want to join, but because I fear playing with a group that abuses the AFK system. And when I help people in the field as a WHM, I find myself acting out of principle rather than a joyful willing.

I hope that the community improves as the game ages, but I fear that since selfishness has dominated the game’s launch, a time at which everyone should be excited to play and experience the world together, the community will gradually wither.

I do hope that the poisonous community that is being developed will quickly cull itself and go back to whatever place that taught them how to socialize so horribly.

My only recommendation to the folks suffering the selfishness of the many afkers, ignore it,people today are going down the drain and this world is full of selfish and greedy people. It will not change,do your part and live by the rules and laws that you deem honorable and worry not if others are not doing it.

People are crap, don't expect them to be otherwise.
