9-1-2013 Login difficulties NOT fixed

NA/EU server lists almost never populates STILL. When it does, (if it does) still all you get is that lovely 1017. If you guys are going to fix this then ACTUALLY fix it please. We all paid money to play this. This is getting stupid.

Well, the server are getting hammered by people trying to login. But they can't. As 50% (increasing) of the server is afk, and won't be removed ever. Kick those, and there won't be much of a problem w.r.t. the login servers any longer.

That makes sense. Sounds like Squenix knows what needs to be done then. What is with all the afk people anyway? And why was an inactivity boot never implemented? Even FFXI had one.

FFXI when I played (Launch til 2005-ish) never had an implemented AFK boot... It had an option to log you out after certain period of inactivity if you wanted it, but was never mandatory. I have a feeling they may go the same route as that in which case they can say they did their job without forcing players to actually be kicked for being AFK for extended periods of time.

Ah, had forgotten it was an option. I must've always had it on. Still, at this point in time it seems like an AFK boot (option or not) is well needed.

On a side note. I played XI from launch to about the same time as well.

Nah it's cool, I got in after waiting 3 hours through relaunching the game when the launcher crashed, relaunching the game when the "Start" button was greyed out, waited through 1017 errors over 200 times, finally got in on a random try, But guess what, I tried to teleport, and a little 90000 error decided to pop it's ugly head, NOW I'VE DONE IT FOR ANOTHER 3 HOURS, GOD THIS IS ADORABLE, LET'S JUST IGNORE THE FACT THAT PEOPLE CAN'T PLAY ARE GAME, LET'S NOT EVEN REPLY WITH A "SORRY" THIS TIME LOLOLOLOLOL ......

anti afk system would not solve anything people would just circumvent it with easy keyboard macros.

not everyone knows how to set up such macros, it would definitely help. just add it temporarily even, until they can find a permanent fix.
