I don't play the 'stats' game. I couldn't care less if Fates the 'best xp', I'm after the 'fun xp'.

I've so far leveled to 30 just running the main storyline quests whilst picking up side quests along the way and had a great time doing so. I jump into Fates if the are in my way to the next quest but I don't go chasing them.

However, I would like the cooldown on Leve Quests shortened a bit. Having to wait 12 hours just to get 3 Leve Quests is a bit crummy.

I can see my next few classes taking a lot longer due to finishing the main storyline, but I think that's how it should be really. You shouldn't be able to simply smash out every single class without putting some 'work' into it.

You CAN go back to FFXI, it is still up and running. Do stop whining before you complain about other people's whining.

Fates are everywhere. Just do leves near fate spots. You have enough choice in leves and enough choice in fates to make this happen. A sensible person would take fun xp over boring xp. Or if they insist on doing it the boring way, they sure as heck wouldnt complain about it being boring.

Regarding AF gear, I disagree. Clearly you haven't spotted the new af gear in mor dhona that require a lot of farming to get. The AF gear we get from quests is just entry level trash. Of course its easy to get, its nowhere near the best armor.

Yes, you can. It doesn't show up in your list but you can still participate and you'll still get rewards if you just enter the area as normal.

    Most replies in this thread:

Stop complaining, levelling to slow = stupid
Plenty of quests, mmos have grind, you have choices = equally stupid
Why rush the game, stop rushing, dun make game easier = pathetically more stupid
Some crap about trolls, white knights = nobody gives a shit, argue among yourselves

That is more than half the thread. Pathetic.

Back on topic, the issue is that FATE is the single most efficient farming mechanic in the game. This is not about choice or what the ever fucking crap. Fact of the matter, FATE gives HUGE amount of exp, some money, HUGE amount of seals than any other system in the game. You may argue about leves, first of it is limited. How many leves can you do in a day? The FATEs you can do a day dwarfs that amount significantly. Dungeons, theoretically this should be comparable with FATEs exp-wise and gil-wise. BUT, Duty Finder isn't exactly appealing to the DPS classes which are 50% of the battle classes. You spend more time on queue on DF than on the dungeon you queue for, and it doesn't give GC seals. I am not even gonna bother with guildhest, one-time wonders. So the single best farming tool available for us is FATEs, and it is so zergtastically easy that everyone can just do it stress-free.

Are you playing this as a game, or it is your job?

I don't mind FATEs as a grinding option at all. In fact, I think it's a pretty cool solution to grinding.

I just wish they would add some NMs for loot and stuff that aren't zone-wide zergrushes. NMs in this game are boring right now. I want to pop an NM that can drop a rare item and actually have some sort of interaction with it.

Yeah, not concerned with being 50 in two days. Don't understand what the rush is - I'd rather enjoy it than having to backtrack and find quests, etc. You'd think that would be a pain.

There is a severe lack of quests in the 40s in this game. Every level bracket has been great up until the 40s, where the quests dry up completely fast.

A lot of silly shit has been said in this topic. Let me clear
Some of the garbage up. Hunting log is not a effective grind tool. It gets you one level if you can even complete it. Leves are not an effective grind either. Limited and short on mobs. Dungeons stop it. Quests don't exist after your first 50. Point is you can do the other stuff, but you are just wasting time. Fates = best option by a landslide.
