Not being forced to close the game via Alt+F4 or some more extreme method if you press Start while gathering would be great. You get locked down and can neither move nor continue gathering if you pull up the gamepad menu because it closes opened windows, and that includes the gathering interface.
Now I can't get back on the server because it's at capacity...

One little quality of life improvement I'd like is a map icon for market boards. I really can't imagine how NPC shops get icons but player run shop listings do not...
Another thing I'd like to see is a map key. It can be hidden behind a map button or something, but it should still be accessible to anyone who wants to better understand the maps they're looking at.
Neither of those things should be hard to implement or take a lot of resources so it would really be great to see even these little things implemented ^_^

Add some NPC to the airship and ferry cutscenes. It looks so weird when I'm the only passenger on the vehicle.
I'd like to make a suggestion for the party list being able to be filled upwards as an option. That way I can move my party list more freely around the screen regardless of it's UI size. Right now because it fills up downwards, it creates an odd sized box in the UI layout.
Ideally I would have the party list at the very bottom filling upwards, and the party chat right next to it. The same could apply for the quest tracker, that way it doesn't overlap with other UI elements when I join a FATE, or a new objective with a long description appears.
This allows me to have a cleaner UI when I'm running solo, as I don't use the parameters bar to keep track of my info ( I'm a minimalist when it comes to UI and macro functions )
However, This is how it floats due to how it fills up downwards.
Additionally, a way to specify how the UI elements permanently overlap each other would be nice. If I want certain elements to overlap the map and stay that way.
I'd like to have a little bit more freedom with our UI. Maybe this could be sorted out with add-ons, which I'm very eager to develop. However, having a simple feature like "layering" (Permanently overlapping) the UI elements as stock would help. Almost forgot to mention a way for us to resize the target bar horizontally. Along with a feature disabling "Target to target" information and/or making it a separate UI element.

I want to see the current progress of a FATE just by hovering over them in my map.
I'd like to see fate exp nerfed, or scale the challenge with the number of players, or something.
The fate zerging is leading to terrible Bad Manners and is extremely unpleasant to put up with, and borders on being an exploit in the speed with which people are leveling.

I don't know if this has been suggested yet,
I would very much like an option to mute mount music. It is cute at first but it eventually can get annoying XD. Maybe I just need a couple more mounts to vary it a bit. I love the chocobo music but it loop so fast lol.
You can find this by going into System config > Sound > uncheck Play music when mounted. The mount music will be muted and the zone music will play instead.

I'd like the ability to hide the Pet Hotbar, I'd rather put the skills on my "skill square" that I have going, and make more vertical space.
