Full Servers; Are you fed up with it?

There should be a queue, and there should be posted numbers of what number of characters are on each server.

And while they're at it, the world status page should not always say 'Online'. It should say 97% full, or 100% full, 10k queued. And when the servers are offline, the world status should say 'Offline' or 'Maintenance'.

The consumer is left holding the short end of SE's poor planning stick. People payed money with an expectation of getting something tangible - in this case a game to play, when they choose to play. SE's quality and delivery of a purported top-rate game fell flat on it's face. It's upsetting to see that some gamer's are accepting the sub-par by lowering their expectations and rights of a paying consumer to deal with poor performance and planning. Oh, but wait - this is a "start-up" and their are bound to be glitches...

I'm really trying to be patient because I'm a huge Final Fantasy fan and so far I am very pleased with the game when I am able to play. I completely understand not wanting to purchase too many servers early on with the possibility of the game not living up to expectations. That's an immediate loss of revenue. You want to find that happy medium. However there are two items that should be a "given" when it comes to a MMO.

#1: Queue System
There is no reason they shouldn't have a working fully functional queue system. Other less polished MMO's have had this with no problem. In my opinion is a definite given. I don't care if I have to wait two hours and I'm 2000/2000. At least I know its working and I will eventually get in. However having errors at this point in time is simply unprofessional.

#2: Idle Auto Logout
I don't blame players that stay logged in to ensure they can play when they want to. It's a vicious circle and can understand both points. The bottom line is it shouldn't come to that. It should be a given. There have once again been many MMO's ahead of this that have had the feature–and for good reason.

Both these points just seem odd to me that they weren't implemented or done correctly. Especially on a game's second outing...

Hope there not going to charge ones to play FFXIV after there 30 free days is up or ones that paid for the month to play. Also wonder if they will refund ones that's bought the game and cant play it. How it is now don't see FFXI lasting very long. Maybe they will make it a third time and it will be right. Just tried to log on now JP servers don't show up so cant even play. All I want is them to refund me cost of the game and ill go back to FFXI had no problems playing there. Thought NC Soft was bad but there way worse for games with problems.

You bought their game, not only that, you're all playing for free, we have an entire month, A MONTH, 30 days, of playing this game, with no extra cost, on top of that we're getting extra free days, so missing out half a day or so of playing because the server is full is not going to kill you.

Actually, no I'm not. Right now I'm reading these forums. The first month without a subscription is pretty standard really. Wouldn't hold that up as a standard for anything honestly. We are supposed to get a free month, I guess. Since I am not playing I guess it's free to do another things with my time? I'm starting to get confused because what you posted is pretty darn confusing. What you are basically saying is that I paid for the game and I get the first month to allow them to get to the point that it's playable during the times I can play?

Have some respect, they are dealing with everything as well as any company can, don't act entitled, because you aren't losing out.

Wanting a quality product at the time of purchase is pretty standard has well. To voice displease isn't a sign of disrespect, so get of your f'ing high horse and let people voice the displease instead of being a condensing d'bag.

What I would like is a game that doesn't pause at showing my character list because it's trying to pull the JP server list. I would like a game that didn't have NA and EU combined as a group. I would like a game that actually has a real queue (it doesn't matter to me if it takes a while to log in, as long as I don't have to keep trying). It would like a game that doesn't close the app when it has difficulty with the lobby (or other errors), so that I have to log in again (with token).

Its been more than 4 hours since I could logon to my world (a JP server, Masamune). Right now this is how I feel: "If I knew this would be such a pain in the butt common occurrence, I would have just stayed in the server (when I was able to) and went afk. (even though there might have been safety measures inputted to kick afk players out)." I agree with the precious post that stated that the infrastructure is the problem here; great game but just not enough servers/open slots to hold people in. Honestly its driving me bat sh*t insane.
