I arrived in Camp Horizon tonight and found a GM there preaching about the 7th era and impending dark abyss or whatnot. But yes the GM appeared and spoke to everyone, did a few crazy abilities and buffed everyone with a 15 minute quickness and vanished! It was all very mysterious.

I really doubt what you're talking about is part of the event. Probably just some random GM popped up and you got lucky enough to be there at that moment.
