Sadly, I suspect the real problem is they scaled the hardware for what they expect to remain after the 30-day free trial, and not for the initial large burst of players. Apologizing repeatedly is a lot cheaper than buying more servers.

I thought the issue was that there can only be 5000 concurrent log=in ATTEMPTS at a time, and that was the issue why folks couldn't get in. not server population. If this is the case, then it wouldn't matter if they were logged in for days, it would keep the number of people trying to login down to boot. Not defending them, just stating what I have been assuming. Anyways, if I am wrong, appy-polly-logies and all that.

anyone who stay on overnight while doing nothing should be banned no mercy
Wow.... Some of you people are just ridiculous, selfish, and hypocrites. Most of these posts can be summed up "Im tired of suffering so Im going to make other people suffer and stay logged in next time". Dont come in here and complain about the people that you are about to become. Thats just pathetic. Yeah square enix should have planned this way ahead of time, but dont become a part of the problem. By staying afk in the server you are just adding to the problem.

I like logging off after I am done playing for two reasons.
One: I know one of my fellow adventurers can now begin or continue enjoying their story in Eorzea.
Two: To hear the melody that plays whenever you log out in a bed.
Frankly, just because you paid for a bad game a few years ago does not make you privileged and give you the ability to whine, whine, whine. That just makes you a dumbass for continuing to play a bad game. Congrats! You are however not a special snowflake and no one wants to hear you ranting and whining like you are.
Secondly, WHAT Servers are still having issues? I play on Leviathan and I barely EVER have trouble getting in anymore. Maybe around 4pm to 9pm there are small issues because school is out but I can usually get in within 10 to 15 minutes of trying.
Those who think they are justified to stay logged in? You aren't helping the issue and I can't wait until we have the AFK timers.
So you cant play when you want, big deal... Oh, did you pay for the game to play it? well, I guess all those AFK'ers didn't.... oh, did they? well then, I guess they can play the game however the hell they want to so stfu.
No. Good luck with 1017.

Your head is buried so far in the sand you're striking oil. If you truly believe that servers aren't still having MAJOR issues then God help you, because there's nothing on this Earth that can fix that kind ofFrankly, just because you paid for a bad game a few years ago does not make you privileged and give you the ability to whine, whine, whine.
