1.0 CE owners did not receive your 2.0 bonus items BECAUSE you are Legacy, say Square

Like many I have seen on this forum, I was a 1.0 Collector's edition owner still waiting on my 2.0 CE bonus items and whose mog station account showed as a Legacy member only with an offer to upgrade. After numerous support tickets, and chat attempts, I finally got the following email response today:

Dear Customer,

Regarding your request for account support. Please find your answer below.

Yes, if you purchased the original FINAL FANTASY XIV Collector's Edition, you will receive all of the FFXIV: A Realm Reborn Collector's Edition in-game bonus items free of charge.
* Please note that you will not receive the box, disc, and other physical bonuses.
* Please note Legacy members do not receive Collector's Edition bonuses.

That's right. If you were a paying Legacy member of 1.0 who bought the Collector's Edition and everything, you do not get anything from 2.0. If you had never paid for the subscription to support the game back in those days, then you would be getting all of the bonus items today. Does this not seem a little backwards to anyone else? Can any devs clarify on the reasoning behind this?

If you read that thing it clearly says 1.0 CE owners get ARR CE items.
Not all Legacy are CE owners though.

As a Legacy holder who had 1.0 CE, I can confirm I got ARR CE items.

Seems your problem is you're not recognized as a CE owner.
Do you still have your 1.0 CE box?

Note: If you registered with a "buddy pass" that was included with the CE, that's not a CE in itself.
