I love the arrogance in your post. because Square will definite respond to YOUR post and not the other billion that are out there lolol.I'm curious as to why not service has been put in place to automatically boot players after x time of inactivity? This functionality is in place in many other online games to counter the various server issues we are currently experiencing.
Many players (as I'm sure they will attest to in response to this post) opt for staying logged into the game for fear of not being able to log in later should they log out at any time. I don't blame them. If I didn't care about taxing power on my household or the various updates I might have to do to my computer that require a system restart, I'd stay logged in too. The fear they hold is a legitimate one.
Is this something that is intended to be implemented in upcoming maintenance? Can we expect such a functionality any time in the future?
I understand that even if implemented, some players will still inevitably just jump every 10 mins or so, but that only accounts for part of the population.
If there is a valid reason that this has not been implemented please state your rebuttal in response to this post. The issue is freely up for debate. Thank you for your cooperation and understanding.
Really? here too Athie-reiki? o.o' is no one safe from your attacks on people with game play issues? Athie, we need to talk about your aggression issues. Do you need a hug?

I've been pounding this drum myself for awhile now, but I don't mind another post on the issue.
To answer your question: there is no reason why this has not been implemented, or why it wasn't done from the start. The only thing SE has said about it is that it has been "considered" in response to player concerns, but was assigned a lower priority behind the server queue issues.
This was just a boneheaded decision made by the dev team, and they are unwilling to publicly admit they made a mistake.

Could they not write an if/then to anticipate repetitive keystrokes such as that?
Yes, they could.
......... ok so i make the macro do spacebar wait 3 min then hit alt+4 which is the hotkey for sit then i make it do alt+5 which is the hotkey for jump(instead of space) hell they could have 20 different keybinds all with the ability jump and just have this macro cycle through them...... again an anti AFK boot system would not work its easily circumvented. Regaurdless all this will be fixed on the 4th.
As Kenjin already mentioned. Those who make macros (no matter how elaborate said macro would be) to fight the system only account for a small portion of the entire populous playing the game. What's more, were such a feature put in place and were server issues to be resolved, the amount of people making such macros would lessen even more if not completely be eliminated because the need for a macro would no longer exist.......... ok so i make the macro do spacebar wait 3 min then hit alt+4 which is the hotkey for sit then i make it do alt+5 which is the hotkey for jump(instead of space) hell they could have 20 different keybinds all with the ability jump and just have this macro cycle through them...... again an anti AFK boot system would not work its easily circumvented. Regaurdless all this will be fixed on the 4th.
