So.... Why hasn't this thread been closed yet.....
Listen... im a lnc and i would be very happy with a buff... but
on dodore an arc DOES NOT do more dmg then me.... so ok with the buff, but then the lnc would be a broken class
all think arc is OP because this game, for now and hope not for ever, is 97% based on stupid leves... on a 6sec fight thats obvius that arc does tons of dmg in few sec .... their skills are best for that, but again who damn cares about those crappy-leves???
the game now needs so much things.... how can you think about nerf buff...bla bla ...OP classes ...when even the stats system doesnt work???
mumble..mumble.....

Heh ok. well, Archer doesnt need any kind of nerf. when other classes start expending ammo, and still do less damage, we can talk about it. Arrows need multiple different mats from multiple different classes to create. Archers using warped arrows all the time will still do the same damage as all other classes. People preferring multiple archers in their party is player preference; broken preference too. People playing archer is player preference. And its not people jumping on the archer bandwagon, it is just one more class to rank up.

What a pointless topic, how about we wait until AFTER the class and battle revamp before we cry about nerfing classes?

It's pointless talking about nerfs and buffs to classes when there's a complete overhaul of the class system on the way. Who knows what will change? I think THM and CON are way better damage dealers than ARC anyway if played right. THM rips up NMs like crazy. A THM can solo some of them, can an archer? I'm talking about the five high rank ones not the easy mid rank ones.

You constantly mention Archer vs Marauder. The thing you neglect to take into account is that Marauder is a class that is built around fighting multiple targets. Almost all of their weapon skills turn into cone AoEs when in Steadfast, not to mention their ability to parry and completely negate damage. Archers can't do that, at best they might evade if they're lucky. Otherwise they're pretty fragile if they pull hate (which they're likely to do if they don't manage well). Marauders can do amazing damage to groups of enemies while Archers have predominantly single target skills, save a small few AoE (like Arrow Helix which is obnoxious). So yes against a single target Archer slaughters Marauder in terms of damage however that is their strong point and honestly it's Marauder's weak point.
You claim an Archer can do 3k damage, I've seen a Conjurer do 3.5k damage in a single spell before under the right battle regimen conditions. Should we nerf Conjurer too now?
Also I think balance would be the better term. Nerf has so many negative connotations that people are immediately up in arms once the word comes up. Do the classes need balancing? Of course they do and I hope we get that with the battle changes.

Please, Peregrine, just stop it -.-/Archers should NEVER do as much damage as any meleers, because meleers are risking their lives on AoE from powerful mobs. Archers aren't.
It's embarrassing to watch people making themseves look like fools - either unintentionally, or, even worse, on purpose. Meleers are not "risking their lifes" any more than, let's say, archers or mages. If the tank goes down, mages do, too. And if the tank doesn't pay attention, mages are actually the first ones to "die". And there's nothing heroic about dieing in a game where there's no death penalty either.
Your whole concept of "brave marauders vailantly facing imminent death" is taken directly out of some b-rated action movie, but doesn't belong here. It's just "a few steps left of reality", if you get what I mean. It's just... well... just as childish as a pale kid boasting off that his uncle is an ex-marine (which happens to sit in a wheelchair, since bullets don't care about whether the spine they shatter belongs to a hero or not).
But then again, maybe you believe in the army commercials. And Starship Troopers...
