History repeats itself: Time for the Great Archer Nerf of 2011

There are only 2 things that make ARC a better DD than the others.

Raging Strike 2 & Multishot. BTW, multishot is pointless to use without Raging Strike 2 unless your just buffing before the fight.

But....Raging Strike 2 can be equipped on other jobs and it pwns on other DD as well.

Multishot(big advantage at beginning of the fight, using it in middle is just stupid unless ur safe)

As well as Trifrucate(3hit), Quick Knock(multihit ws pre 30's), Bloodletter(1000TP, also recast is insanely short compared to other "final ws") Wide Volley II(a good non steadfasted AoE for 1000tp).. all im saying is archer is better DD for those who refused.

Check out the recast timer for Trifrucate. As far as Quick Knock goes, if you dont use hawk eye you will probably miss 2 of the shots. And even though its a 5 hit WS, each shot doesnt do much dmg without Raging Strike. Which is why I said Raging Strike is what make things pwn. Trifrucate isn't worth it without Raging Strike 2 either

Bloodletter is really just a regular WS and numerous jobs have pretty good AOE ws's such as Wide Volley


Also keep in mind that ARC is the most expensive job to bring up. Just a stack of the good high level arrows will run you almost 80k. And you can use several stacks on the linked up leve runs and SPing in just 1 night. Even though getting gil in this game is easy, 160k-240k a night in just ARROWS is high.

No, sorry, just like last time. You don't pay for **** in this game if you're an archer. You probably couldn't even AFFORD to be a ranger in FFXI, and even though their argument that they pay for performance was TEN times better than yours is right now, they STILL lost the argument and got hammered..

1 of them isn't paying any gil and doing dmg
1 of them is paying 200k gil and doing dmg

The one paying 200k gil and doing dmg has a legitimate arguement to have a higher DPS.

Pay for that protection. With less damage. That you pay for arrows...welll. that's your down payment.

Hey, I'm not the class that pretty much told all meleers to sit out of the last game for 4 years. You are. I'd watch out if I were you. Tanaka always had his finger on the nuke button after what your class did to FFXI. That antelopes SPIT on you in this game when you tried to range attack them is not a coincidence.

I really don't see how you can say that a job that spends so much gil on just Arrows doesn't have a right to higher DPS than other DD that don't pay anything extra. Don't forget that there are plenty of mobs/NM's that only have cone shaped AOE and your other DD can just as easily have that "protective" spot while safely doing dmg to the mob.
