Please understand this: the queue wasn't taken out. It's still there. The queue only shows up when the server is not at capacity, and they are still allowing people to login to the servers. The queue is a function of the login server to prevent the login server from overloading. It's basically a "line" to let people trickle into the server at set intervals.

The reason for the 1017 is that the server is at full capacity, and new connections (logins) are closed. They are not letting ANYONE else login to the server at that time, so you have to wait until people logoff. Hence the reason why we absolutely need the AFK kick timers, to get rid of all the people who are just sitting there logged in, doing nothing, to essentially save themselves a place on the server when they are ready to play hours later.

Having the last time being able to log into the game be when it was being beta tested, yes that means since Tuesday night when I got home from work and tried to play the game I have been unable to log in even one time. I would hope that seeing a simple queue of "Queue 1342" ... even if I had to wait for the 1342 people to log out so I could log in, not having one and simply having to randomly guess "hmmm I wonder if I could log in now" would be a lot better.... the Queue is a line to wait in to log into the server so why can’t I see how many people would have to logout so that I could login in a queue instead of hoping for dumb luck and getting in or having to sit there and try logging in all day long pressing a button like I have had to try today.

    Well said.

It's better to have a Queue System that at least allows you to line up, even if you are #1,000 in line. At least you know where you stand (and see it slowly trickle down).

Error 1017 is basically "We're Closed. Come back... at some other random time and see if we're Open." Awful system.

This logic is terrible. The server should only have 2 states: queue or no queue. You should be able to login without queue when the server is under capacity. When the server is at capacity, you should go into a queue to login. There shouldn't be some other state where the server is too full to put you into a queue. Additionally, it doesn't make any sense to put people into a queue when the server is under capacity, other than to handle the requests in sequence, which should take less than a second and not require the joining user see any sign that this is happening. The current queue should appear EVERY time you try to login and are not immediately put into game. The error "server is full, try again later" should only be in the game before a queue is implemented in the game. Anything else makes no sense.
