Guys, this problem has affected me as well, and here's what I did, and I think you should all do as well:
1) I traded my 50$ worth cdkey for 3 months game time
2) I received all the in-game rewards for paying 3 months in advance
3) I payed 20$ more to upgrade to CE
Result:
Instead of paying 30$ for 2 months game time and using the 50$ cdkey for an upgrade to CE and an additional month (Total cost of 80$) I ended up trading 50$ cdkey for 3 months game time and upgrading for 20$ (Total cost of 70$)
Benefits:
1) Saved 10$
2) Received all possible veteran rewards for now (I dont think u receive veteran rewards for the 1 month free play time with the 50$ cdkey)
well... it seems that 1.0 account owners that added Early access code a now turning invalid since the EA time is up, we do not know what is the cause but it looks like it might have something to do with early access accounts not knowing how to deal with existing 1.0 accounts once they are no longer active.
If anyone is 1.0 and cannot log in anymore despite still having 10+ days left on their welcome back special, you got another reason to call support now.
*This information might be wrong after all, login servers are having congestion issues as we speak and giving all kinds of errors - check with the mogstation first to see if your are still registered as active*

giving this another bump before bed, trying SE support phone line again today. hope i have better luck! goodluck to all, maybe we will hear something on this by the time i get up
Bump, how the hell we dont known what to do 3 days after release.
Bumping as well because I want to see an official response.
This is *completely* unacceptable.According to SE:
If you have already purchased a Collector's Edition package, please note that we do not accept any returns. If this is the case, we advise you to create a new service account.
Source.
This isn't really acceptable though.
They posted that now, after EA and offcial service started. Nowhere at the time of purchase we were told such a thing.
This is false advertisement plain and simple and I can't believe that instead of acknowledging the problem, they are posting stuff like that on the support page.
We don't *have* to read the forums, we *must* be informed when we make a purchase.
SE got our money, now it's time they give us what we paid for.
Bolded the problem with the product description. Like mentioned before, only place I know where the issue with old accounts was ever officially brought up to the public was in the 1.0 forums.
Considering that apart from customer support, forum writers like me are the ones notifying people of the issue, it was just poor communication and a predictable problem that beta testers mentioned before.
What I would like to know is if you WERENT version 1.0 and you bought a CE, but made an account for beta, will the PS3 code solution work? I bought both copies of CE for PC and PS3 but I am not Version 1.0?
I already lvled a character to 35, two sub jobs at 15 and more. I do NOT want to make a new account for this. Is it possible or am I screwed?
Welp, threw my CE right in the trash can. Thanks for nothing Square.
