45 minutes of trying over and over. 1017

After allot of help from the forum and none from Square, i have got around the 1017, and it was as simple as disabling my BullGuard real time anti virus. I'v found a number of people with BullGuard that had this problem. FYI

WRONG, It took me 6 days of constant trying after work from 5pm to 11pm to just to even create a character

That is a little different and I will admit this. What I have recommended to my guildies is to do it in the early morning when there isn't a huge load on the server. Character creation sucks because it will only update you every 3 mins, as opposed to flat logging in. When I have seen people say it took them 6 hours to get in the game, it was not mentioned that they were also trying to create their character. I wasn't willing to wait for that one myself, so when I got up for work at 6am last monday I took all of 5 minutes to load my appearance data and create my character. Different servers might handle this differently and your results may vary, but trying from 5pm to 12am is the worst time period to do the character creation right now.

Again, I was not making excuses for SE. I am merely trying to provide insight on how to work around the situation in these troubling times Not everyone here is against you, just because they are saying something that isn't a "yes, you are right +1 on this post, down with SE!!!! Lynch mob unite!"

I'll add again that this is still better than the alternative, which would have been SE putting up way too many servers, then half those servers being dead in a week. If it takes them a week to expand the servers, and get everything stable, it's better than waiting months for server merges when your server has almost no population left. I've been in that situation before in MMOs, and it sucks significantly worse, and for a longer span of time.

These issues will die down once the new game shine wears off as well. On top of that, there are a lot of people bum rushing 50 so they can devour all the content prior to the free month being up. Those people will be gone in a couple of weeks.

I do feel bad for the people that really want to play, the ones that want to take their time and enjoy the game. For those people, just relax, and be patient.

Technically you haven't paid for any time yet, that won't happen till the end of your 30 day access. Even at that, you were given 30 days as part of the initial purchase which did not kick in until today, so any extra time (early access) was bonus and they don't need to comp you for any time spent or unspent during that period. If you got to play at all, yippee! If not, then it wasn't something you paid anything extra for.

Now, that being said, since you are in your 30 day time starting today, they are getting into stuff that you "paid" for with the initial purchase of the game, and if you go read the dev letter that was posted yesturday. They mentioned they were looking to do things to compensate us for time lost, including (but not limited to) extending the period of free gameplay on your account.

So please stop posting this tireless and entitled dribble. They are aware of the problem, and they have already said that they will take care of their customers.

Technically this is free time for almost everyone. There will likely be some type of "time credit", but they can't issue it until they know how long the issues are going to take to fix. People just need to chill out, it's not the end of the world.

Takes maybe like 2 minutes for me to log in, like some other person said on the thread, just try the few minutes trying to log in don't know about the hours not logging in, had alot of friends have some server issues but are fine now, oh and there wait time is 5 minutes top, fyi your going to see negative posts than more positive posts :-P

Yeah, past few days it has actually gotten better and better. Even during high-usage times. Either more and more people are getting fed up and quitting/waiting or they are working on stuff better on the back end to alleviate some of the stress. Either way, my pains of logging in has subsided considerably since trying to play last Sunday and Monday

One of the reasons I try to frequent the forums, to generally be the voice of reason and not just full of negative hate (not that I never get disgruntled myself. I just like helping people where I can!)

Try no more than 5 times in a row, then wait a half-hour or so and try again. Spamming the server might look like a denial of service attack to the server, resulting in your IP address being blocked. I follow the method I suggested, and have been able to get in every night within a couple hours.

I certainly hope my suggestion is helpful to someone. If everyone followed it, I'm certain we would all benefit. Regardless, all this will be over with next week. Just hang in there and try to be patient

Dunno if I can get up in 3 hours after coming home from work to get in a dam server. Worth a shot.
But Behemoth has been fine coz I've gotten not a single error since I woke up.
